3 skincare products I'm currently loving: Dots for Spots, CeraVe and more!

I'm back with another long overdue skincare favourites post! This time I'm going to be sharing 3 products I've been enjoying over the last few months, including some really affordable drugstore picks that have seriously impressed me and will be staying in my skincare routine for a long time to come!

Dots for Spots

First up, something a little different I've been trialling over the last few months are these spot patches from the brand Dots for Spots. They're a brand I've seen floating around on Instagram for a while now that I've always been so intrigued to try!

They're essentially little mini patches that you place on any active blemishes to absorb impurities (all the bad fluid and pus, eek!) using hydrocolloid technology. Aswell as that they also provide a no-touch healing environment for them too whilst they recover, which is absolutely perfect for someone like me that can never resist leaving a breakout alone!

I was a little dubious at first and thought how can such a small clear patch help my breakouts.. but boy does it work! I've been wearing mine on any active breakouts for around 8 hours (usually overnight) and by morning the patch turns from clear to opaque white from all the gunk inside (Sorry for the TMI!) and I'm left with a massively reduced calm spot. So these are definitely a winner for me and are so much better than any overnight drying lotions I've tried in the past, I'll never be going back to them now. Aswell as helping to reduce the spot in size, I've also found these have really helped the blemishes to heal quicker. Usually after a breakout I'm left with redness and some scarring for a good month or so but with this method it's really helped to speed up that process. I'm definitely converted and will be ordering a back-up on Amazon very soon!

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser

Next up a cleanser I've been loving recently is the CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser which aims to cleanse the skin whilst also gently exfoliating, without disrupting the protective skin barrier. It has a blend of 3 essential ceramides, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid and is completely fragrance free!

Ingredient List

Aqua/Water, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl, Hydroxysultaine,Glycerin, Niacinamide, Gluconolactone, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Ceramide NP, Ceramde AP, Ceramide EOP, Carbomer, Calcium Gluconate, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Lauroyl, Lactylate, Cholesterol, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Phytosphingosine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerine.

I've been using this for around 3 months now as a second cleanse in the evening after removing my makeup and have really noticed a difference to the smoothness of my skin. It's not an exfoliating cleanser that's going to make a dramatic difference texture wise in a week but the gentle exfoliation overtime has worked so well with my skin and has left it feeling a lot smoother and just generally looking brighter, especially around my chin area which has previously had a lot of hormonal breakouts and therefore scaring and redness. I'm so happy with the results!

I've found a lot of exfoliating cleansers I've tried in the past have left my skin feeling pretty dry and ready for moisture but this doesn't at all, so it's definitely a good option for anyone with dry skin! I'll for sure be buying another bottle when my skincare stash gets a little smaller, it's such great value for money and the bottle will last you months!

This is their award-winning, skin quenching, brightening and ultra hydrating mist that aims to instantly rejuvenate dry skin. It's designed to replace a toner in your skincare routine, fix makeup in place and refresh your face throughout the day, so there are lots of different ways to use it!

Ingredient List

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprylate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Citric Acid, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Flower Oil, Rosa Centifolia (Rose Absolute) Flower Oil, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Leaf Oil, Nardostachys Jatamansi (Spikenard) Root Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium Bourbon) Flower Oil, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Potassium Sorbate, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol, Citral, Farnesol.
I've just recently finished the sample after using it around 2 weeks and absolutely love it on first impressions. It really does add an instant boost of hydration to the skin and leaves it looking so fresh and glowy! Perfect for popping in your bag for on-the-go, to keep your skin topped up with hydration throughout the day and makeup looking fresh. I'm really tempted to purchase the full size!

  1. I'm struggling a lot with my acne at the moment and I'm using Cerave's face wash for oily skin as well as pimple patches by COSRX. I've never heard of the patches you use but they look interesting!
