March Degusta Box: Hello Spring

It's time for another Degusta Box review! This time I'm going to be sharing what's inside the March box, which has a theme of 'Hello Spring'.  The box is packed with loads of exciting treats this month with everything from new chocolate releases to noodles, so I'm very excited to share what's inside and also let you know my thoughts on the products too!

{This post includes PR samples}

About Degusta Boxes

Degusta Box are a monthly food and drink subscription service. Each box contains between 10-15 food and drink items which are guaranteed to exceed the value you've paid for the box, so you can always expect great value for money with this one. The boxes are currently priced at £12.99 per month, with free delivery included too. It's definitely a great subscription option for us foodies who love discovering new eats, I mean who doesn't want a mystery box full of food and drink turning up at their door every month? I know I definitely do!

There are two variations of the box this month, one including an alcohol product and one containing a replacement depending on your subscription.

What's inside the box?

Singapore Curry Naked Noodles

First up in the box this month we're getting a pot of Singapore Curry Noodles from the brand Naked Noodles, who are a brand I already know and love! This one's a new flavour to me though with aromatic curry spices that are lifted by the distinctive flavours of the Chinese five spice and also garlic and ginger. The flavours all come together so well, creating such a delicious tasty sauce with a really good depth of flavour and a nice warmth from the chilli too! I also love the addition of the carrot and spring onion which add a nice texture to the noodles and finish the combination off perfectly. This one definitely gets a big thumbs up from me, perfect for a quick and easy but very tasty lunch!

Wotsits: Returning flavours

Next up in the box we're getting two bags of Wotsits.. but not just any flavour! After a few years away they've brought back two of their iconic flavours: Flamin' Hot & Sizzling Steak and we're getting them both, yay! I've loved trying these old classics again, especially Flamin' Hot which was one of my favourites as a teen. It's packed with flavour and has a nice bit of heat to it too, once you start on a bag you really can't stop, they're so addictive! The Steak flavour was quite nice too but I wouldn't buy that one again in a rush, Flamin' Hot is definitely the way to go for me!

Marmite Crunchy Peanut Butter

Next up were getting one of the new Crunchy Marmite Peanut Butters, which was the item I was most excited to try this month! I'm a huge lover of both Peanut Butter and Marmite, so I was very excited to see how the combination worked together. I've had this every single day since the box arrived early this month and I've even been out to buy a back up, so I think that says it all for how much I've been enjoying it! The combination is absolutely delicious, the peanut butter goes so perfectly with the tangy Marmite and is an absolute dream on a toasted bagel. I can't believe nobody had thought of combining the two before now, it's definitely going to be a staple in my cupboards from now on!

Seedlip Garden 108

Next up we're getting our first drink item in the box this month, a Seedlip Garden 108, which is the world's first distilled non-alcoholic spirit. How cool is that!? It claims to be fresh and floral and capture the essence of the English Countryside with sophisticated top notes of pea and hay and a complex herbal character of spearmint, rosemary and thyme.. which sounds perfect for the upcoming Spring and Summer months. I haven't had chance to try this one yet but I'm very intrigued to now!

Stockists: Available at Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Holland and Barrett

Merchant's Heart Tonic Water

Next up to go along with the spirit, we're of course getting a Tonic. This time from the brand Merchant's Heart in either their Pink Peppercorn or Floral Aromatics flavour! Their tonics are co-created with world-leading bartenders and are designed to allow the flavours of the spirit to shine through on the palate. I'm hoping we get some sunny weather this weekend so I can enjoy these in the garden, fingers crossed!

Nudie Snacks Roasted Broadbeans

Also in the box this month, we're getting a bag of Sour Cream & Chive roasted broadbeans from the brand Nudie Snacks, who are a completely new brand to me. That's one thing I absolutely love about these Degusta boxes, I always discover so many new brands each month! The beans were another one of my favourites from this month's box and were packed with a delicious sour cream and chive flavour with a really nice crunchy texture to them, almost like a pretzel! They're packed with fibre and high in veggie protein too, so a great snack to fill up on and tie you over between meals. They definitely get a big thumbs up from me and will be something I buy again!

Price: £1.59
Stockists: Holland and Barrett, Amazon and Wholefood Markets

Galaxy Oat Drink

Next up this month, we're getting one of the new Vegan Oat Milk drinks from Galaxy who are a brand doing so well at creating alternatives for Vegans and those with dairy allergys right now! I gave this a try last week and really enjoyed it, it's probably one of my favourite alternatives I've tried from Galaxy so far! The drink has a really lovely malty chocolate flavour and a nice smooth texture, not too thin but not too thick either, just the right balance. It's definitely a really good alternative to the regular Galaxy milk drinks, I honestly don't think I'd be able to tell the difference side by side! I wish they would have used oat milk in their new Vegan Chocolate Bars aswell instead of the Hazelnut paste they did use as this gives much more of a milky flavour. A great little addition to this month's box!

Price: £1.50
Stockists: Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and a wide range of convenience stores

Homepride Superior Sponge Flour

Also in the box, we're getting a box of Superior Sponge Flour from Homepride which is the newest member in their flour family and made from 100% British Wheat Flour! This has come at the perfect time whilst we're in lockdown as I'm going to try to do lots of baking to keep busy. There's also a recipe card attached in this month's box for a Chocolate and Blackberry Tray bake, so I'll definitely be giving that a try!

Price: £2
Stockists: Tesco

Knorr Stock Pots

Next in the box, we're getting two Veggie Stock Pots from the brand Knorr in the flavours Kaffir Lime and Ginger & Paprika and Sun-dried Tomato.. which both sound like my kind of flavours! I love it when Degusta Box include stock pots in their boxes as we're always using the slow cooker in our house.  These ones are both gluten free and suitable for Vegans too, which is amazing! I haven't tried them just yet but we're going to attempt a Veggie Bolognese with Lentils as the substitute for meat this week which I'm very excited about!

Price: 95p
Stockists: Morrisons and Tesco

Smarties Buttons

Next up inside the box we're getting some chocolate treats, the new Smarties Buttons in either the white or milk chocolate flavours. Ever since the release I've seen these all over social media, so I was VERY excited to finally try them! The mini smarties are incased in a smooth chocolate button and the creamy chocolate works so well with the crunchy texture of the mini smarties.. creating a Smartie lovers dream chocolate combo, they're so moreish!

I also baked cookies earlier this month and added a few of these in and they made such a delicious addition, they'd definitely be great to use for some Easter baking throughout April too!

Price: £1.59
Stockists: Available in all major supermarket chains

Cadbury Hot Chocolate

Another chocolate item we're getting in the box this month is a new release from Cadbury, a 30% less sugar Hot Chocolate! I already love the regular Cadbury Hot Chocolate so I was very intrigued to see how this compared. It's made with 30% less sugar and only naturally sweetened, so a great alternative if you're looking to cut down on your sugar intake but still enjoy a hot chocolate!

I really enjoyed this one and found it really did taste just like their regular hot chocolate, just slightly less sweet but still with that delicious creamy Cadbury flavour. I'm definitely converted and will probably switch to having this one in our cupboards from now on!

Price: £2.49
Stockists: Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's

Jubel Elderflower Beer

The item exclusive to the alcohol this month is an Elderflower Beer from the brand Jubel which is a light-gold lager naturally infused with elderflower essence. Perfect timing for Spring! I'm not really a beer drinker so I'm going to give this one to my Dad to try, I'll report back here with his thoughts when he does though!

Highball Alcohol Free Cocktail

As an alternative to the beer, in the non alcohol box we're getting a Pink G&T Alcohol Free Cocktail from the brand Highball. I'm not a huge alcohol drinker so I was very intrigued to give this a try and see how it compared to an original Pink G&T. I had this a few nights ago and if you didn't know it was alcohol free already you honestly wouldn't have a clue there is no alcohol inside, I was mindblown! The taste is so similar and has a lovely blend of fruit, juniper and lavender flavours, it would definitely be a perfect drink to have over ice on a warm day in the sunshine this Spring.

Price: £1.99
Stockists: Available at www.highballcocktails.com

..and that's it! I hope you enjoyed hearing about what's inside the March Degusta Box and my thoughts on a few of the products. My top pick for this month has to be the Crunchy Marmite Peanut Butter, I've become absolutely obsessed with it and already have another tub as a back up.. it's definitely one to try if you haven't already!

Let me know in the comments in you've tried any boxes from Degusta box before and your thoughts?
