February Degusta Box: Easter is coming.. New Vegan Galaxy Chocolate, Kit Kat Easter Bunnies & more!

It's time for another Degusta Box review! This time I'm going to be sharing what's inside the February box, which has a theme of 'Easter Is Coming'. The box is packed with so many exciting treats this month with everything from new chocolate releases to condiments, so I'm very excited to share what's inside and also let you know my thoughts on the products too!

About Degusta Boxes

Degusta Box are a monthly food and drink subscription service. Each box contains between 10-15 food and drink items which are guaranteed to exceed the value you've paid for the box, so you can always expect great value for money with this one. The boxes are currently priced at £12.99 per month, with free delivery included too. It's definitely a great subscription option for us foodies who love discovering new eats, I mean who doesn't want a mystery box full of food and drink turning up at their door every month? I know I definitely do!

What's inside the box?

Trek Protein Flapjacks

First up this month we're getting a box of three Cocoa Oat Protein Flapjacks from the brand Trek, who are a company I've been meaning to try for a while now after hearing really good things from fellow bloggers online. The flapjacks are vegan and are made with gluten free oats, containing 9g of plant based protein. The flavour we're getting inside the box is Cocoa Oat which is their top selling flavour and contains golden oats topped with melted dark cocoa, which definitely sounded like my kinda combination! Taste wise I found these absolutely delicious, they had a really nice crunchy yet chewy texture to them with a lovely syrup flavour which went perfectly with the rich dark chocolate on top.. just spot on!

Price and stockists: £2.50 ( Available in major supermarket chains, in either the Free From or cereal bar aisle)

Lost Coast Fruit Spritzer with Apple Cider Vinegar

Drink wise in the box this month we are getting a Fruit Spritzer with Apple Cider Vinegar from the brand Lost Coast, who are a completely new brand to me. That's one thing I absolutely love about these Degusta boxes, I always discover so many new brands each month! The Spritzer contains a blend of sparkling water, unique botanicals and Apple Cider Vinegar which is a natural remedy good for the gut and also known for its health-giving properties too. It's also low in sugar and calories too, so a great alternative if you're looking to cut down on your sugar intake!

You'll recieve one of three flavours in your box this month and I received Mango, Tumeric & Ginger which is something I would never usually go for but I've been pleasently surprised with. It has quite a tart taste to it but is really tasty and refreshing at the same time too, the mango goes perfectly with the tumeric and ginger and balances the flavours out really nicely!

Price & stockists: £2.49 (Available on Ocado, Recital health stores, As Nature Intended and at lostcoastdrinks.com)

Very Lazy Slow Cooker Pastes

Also in the box we are getting a Slow Cooking Paste Pot from the brand Very Lazy, who are brand that were also included in December's box and I was really impressed with. We're getting one of two flavours in the box: Smokey Spanish Stew or Harissa Tagine which both sound delicious from the descriptions, especially the Harissa Tagine which is flavoured with Cayenne and Mint! I haven't had chance to try these just yet but they sound great for a quick and easy meal in the slow cooker and will definitely come in handy in our house.

Price: £1.99 each

Livia's Salted Caramel Million Squares

Next up in the box we are getting one of the Salted Caramel Million Squares from Livia's which is all-natural, vegan, gluten and dairy free.. meaning it can be enjoyed by anyone which is amazing! This was one of the items I was most excited to try this month as I'm a sucker for anything caramel so I was very intrigued to try this alternative! The slices contain gooey date caramel sandwiched between a layer of raw dark chocolate and an oaty base.. are you drooling yet? I definitely am!

Overall I really enjoyed these, they're definitely a really good healthy alternative that still have the tasty sweetness! The caramel has quite a strong date flavour but is so smooth just like your traditional caramel and went perfectly with the crumbly base underneath. Such a delicious combination, I'll definitely be buying a few more packs for sure!

Price & stockists: £1.50 (Available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Boots, Ocado, Waitrose and Holland & Barret)

New Vegan Galaxy Bars

Another chocolate treat we're getting in the box this month is one of the new Vegan Galaxy bars which I've been so intrigued to try, I think it's amazing that a huge brand like galaxy are finally creating a Vegan alternative. In the box we're getting one of three flavours: Caramelized Hazelnut, Smooth Orange or Caramel & Sea Salt so there's a great mix of flavours being divided into the boxes, I know I would of definitely been happy with any of them! Instead of milk the new Vegan recipe uses hazelnut paste which is supposed to create the same smooth and creamy signature characteristics of Galaxy, so I was very excited to put it to the test and see whether it lived up to the hype.

Texture wise the chocolate is spot on and is really smooth and melts in the mouth, I couldn't quite believe it was Vegan with no dairy.. they've definitely done an amazing job at nailing the texture spot on! Taste wise though it's definitely slightly different to the regular Galaxy bars and has a richer flavour with a strong nutty taste to it coming from the hazelnut paste, so it is quite a lot less creamy than the regular Galaxy blend and reminds me more of the Roasted Hazelnut bar from their Darker Collection. It's still really tasty though, just a completely different taste to the regular bars! My personal favourite flavour of the three was Smooth Orange which tastes almost spot on to a Chocolate Orange with such a smooth texture, I found the nutty flavour barely came across in this bar as the orange really overpowers it, so this ones definitely the one to try if you're not a fan of the taste of nuts!

Overall I do still prefer the taste of regular Galaxy chocolate personally, however I think these are such a great alternative for Vegans or anyone who's Dairy Free. It's definitely the smoothest alternative to dairy chocolate I've tried so far so well done Galaxy!

Price and stockists: £3 (Available at Tesco, Ocado & Amazon)

Heinz No Added Sugar Pasta Shapes

Next up in the box we're getting two tins of Heinz Pasta Shapes: Disney Frozen and Paw Patrol which are now available with no added sugar! Perfect for popping in your cupboard for easy teas on those nights where you're in a rush, plus the fun shapes will definitely be fun for kids!

Price and stockists: £0.55 (Available at Sainsbury's, Tesco, Ocado and Waitrose)

Shaken Udder Milkshake Gift Voucher

Also in the box we're getting a gift voucher for a 330ml bottle of milkshake from the brand Shaken Udder which can be redeemed at most major supermarkets including Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsbury's on a really big variety of flavours including:

Salted Caramel
• Vanillalicous
• Ooh La Latte
• Strawberries & Clotted Cream
• Chocolush
• Top Banana

The shakes are made with real fruit or Belgian chocolate and fresh British milk. They contain no artificial colours or flavours and have less than 5% added sugar and are also gluten free and suitable for vegetarians too, which I think is amazing! I picked up the Salted Caramel flavour with my voucher in Morrisons a few days ago and really really enjoyed it. It had such a delicious salty caramel flavour with a lovely creaminess to it, everything you want in a milkshake!

Price: £1.25

KitKat Easter Bunny Bars

Next up in the box we're getting some Easter themed chocolate treats: two of the new Milk Chocolate Easter Bunnies from Kit Kat! These are gluten free and contain no artificial, colours, flavours or preservatives which is amazing news for anyone with a gluten allergy. The bars have a smooth milk chocolate shell with a rich chocolatey centre filled with crispy water pieces.. aka a Kit Kat lovers Easter dream, right?

I'd seen so many people talking about these on social media over the past couple of weeks so I was very happy to be able to finally try them for myself! The bunnies have that same creamy nestle Chocolate that we all know and love with a lovely rich center which worked perfectly with the crispy wafers, if I'm being picky I would of liked a little more wafer but they're still absolutely delicious nonetheless. I'll definitely be picking some more up whilst they're still around before Easter!

Price and stockists: £0.65 each (Available in all major supermarkets)

My Sweet Chickpea Roasted Chickpeas

Another Chocolately snack in the box this month is a bag of dark chocolate and coconut covered roasted chickpeas from the brand My Sweet Chickpea who are a completely new brand to me. I'm so glad we got to discover them in this month box though as they are an absolute dream and are my favourite pick from the whole box! If you like chocolate and coconut you'll absolutely love them, the rich chocolate and creamy coconut go together perfectly along with the crunch of the chickpea..making them very addictive, the bag definitely didn't last long in our house!

Price and stockists: £1.25 (Available in Asda FreeFrom Aisles and on Amazon)

Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard

Next up we're getting a condiment item, a jar of Dijon Mustard from the brand Grey Poupon who are a premium brand of French Dijon. Their Dijon is made in the traditional French way and has been since 1777: with a white wine base that helps to bring out the smooth and delicious flavour! I haven't had chance to try this one yet as I'm waiting to finish our current mustard first but I definitely have high hopes and have heard really good things from fellow Degusta Box reviewers!

Price and stockists: £1.50 (Available at Waitrose, Tesco, Ocado, M&S and Booths)

High Protein Roast Chicken Mug Shot

Also in the box we're getting one of the new High Protein Roast Chicken pasta pots from Mug Shot which contain 13g of protein per pot & are ready in just 5 mins! I've been having the regular mug shots for years now, they're perfect for keeping in the cupboard to have with a quick lunch or as a snack and are great for taking on the go too. I haven't had chance to try this one yet but I'll edit in my thoughts to this post when I have!

Price and stockists: £1.29 (Available at Tesco & Asda)

Jacked Foods Fruit Chunks

Lastly in the box this month we're getting some dried Jackfruit or Ndizi Chunks from the brand Jacked Foods who are another completely new brand to me. The chunks are packed full of vitamins and minerals so are a great alternative to any sweeter snacks if you're looking to be a little healthier!

I have mixed thoughts on these, I really loved the Ndizi Chunks and found they had a lovely fresh tasting banana flavour with a really nice soft chewy texture but I wasn't so keen on the Jackfruit chunks personally. The flavour just wasn't for me and I found them a little tougher compared so how soft the Ndizi ones were. It was definitely still an interesting one to try though, just not for me personally!

Price and stockists: £1.89 (Available on Whole Foods, Borough Box and at John Lewis)

..and that's it! I hope you enjoyed hearing about what's inside the February Degusta Box and my thoughts on a few of the products. My top pick for this month has to be those chocolate and coconut covered chickpeas from My Sweet Chickpea, I've definitely discovered a new favourite snack there and I'm sure I'll be picked up some more very soon!

Let me know in the comments in you've tried any boxes from Degusta box before and your thoughts?
