August Look Fantastic Beauty Box: The Heatwave Edition

It's time for another monthly box review, this time I'm going to be talking about what's inside the August Look Fantastic Beauty Box! This month's box is called The Heatwave Edition and is another really impressive one filled with six products perfect for the summer months, including a mix of makeup, skincare and even a brush! So, I'm very excited to share what's inside and also let you know my first impressions on a few of the products I've tried so far too.

About Look Fantastic Beauty Boxes

The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a monthly subscription service and each box is filled with 6 beauty products worth atleast £50 and the latest edition of Elle UK Magazine too (worth £4.50). So with this box you are guaranteed to receive atleast triple in value of products each month compared to the actual box price, which I think is pretty amazing! The boxes are priced between £13 to £15 depending on the length of subscription you buy from them, with free delivery included in that price too!

August Elle Magazine

First up we are getting a copy of the August Elle UK Magazine, which is something they include in all of their monthly boxes. I think it's such a nice extra to include in them as I love flicking through Elle and reading about the latest beauty and fashion trends, the images inside are also great inspiration for my blog and Instagram photos! They're quite a pricey magazine brand too at £4.50 an issue, so it's amazing that they're included in every box!

Product Value: £4.50

'The Rituals of Holi' Body Cream

Next up in the box we are getting one of 'The Rituals of Holi' Body Creams from Rituals, who are a brand I've always wanted to try! The cream contains Flamingo Flower and Pink Grapefruit and I've become obsessed with the scent, the two blend together perfectly creating such a gorgeous fruity floral blend. The scent lingers really well on the skin too, always leaving my skin smelling great for many hours after! Formula wise, it has quite a rich texture but it melts into the skin almost instantly and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated. It also adds a really nice subtle shine to the skin too which makes it a perfect body cream for the summer months. I definitely want to try out more products from Rituals now after discovering this one as I'm so impressed with the quality!

Product Value: £6.90

Doucce 'Holiday Getaway' Lip Stain

Next up we have our first makeup item in the box, a Doucce Luscious Lip Stain in the shade 'Holiday Getaway' which looks like a really pretty coral colour and is definitely ideal for the summer months. I haven't tried this one yet but I'm very excited to as I've always been really impressed by all the Doucce products I've tried in the past! I think I'm going to save it for my holiday to Florida next month though as liquid lipsticks are a must have in the heat over there. They're a much better alternative to bullet lipsticks in the summer months which can often melt when left in a handbag or a hot car. It's something that happened way too many times to mine last year, oops! So this one will definitely come in handy for my holidays and I think it's a great addition to this months box.

Product Value: £11.95

Bellá Pierre Heatwave Highlighting Palette

Next up and my favourite in the item in the box is the 'Heatwave' Highlighting Palette from Bellá Pierre. It retails for £29.99 which is way over twice the amount of the whole box price, meaning amazing value for money for us! The palette contains five very pretty highlighters including a mix of golds, peaches and a light champagne colour, so you get a really great array of shades inside making it an ideal palette for lots of different skin tones, which is amazing! I've especially been loving the light champagne shade myself which I've been wearing constantly since the box arrived and works perfectly with my pale skin, adding such a gorgeous healthy glow! A few of the shades are a little too dark for me to wear as highlighters but I've been using those on the eyes instead and they add a really pretty pop of shimmer to an eye look with the gorgeous glitters inside. The lighter shades also look amazing in the inner corners too, so it's definitely one great multi-use palette!

Formula wise all of the shades apply really smoothly and evenly to the skin, whether that's dusted on the face with a brush or applied to the eyes with my fingertips. They have also all worn pretty well too and have easily lasted a good 6/8 hours, they are slightly less intense at the end of a day compared to when first applied but the pretty glow is still definitely there. It's been very hot whilst I've been wearing these though, so I would imagine they will last even better during the cooler months!

Product Value: £29.99

Luxie Highlighter Brush

Next up in the box we are getting the 737 Tapered Highlighter Brush from Luxie, who are a brand I've been dying to try out for ages! It's a very soft fluffy tapered brush and applies product really nice and evenly to the skin, it's not super dense so it's great for a natural flush of highlight but then can also build up product really well too. It's quite a bit bigger than any highlighter brushes I already own but still allows the highlight to be applied nice and precisely to the face, it also has an ergonomic precision handle for you to grip onto for more control which is super handy!

I haven't been using anything else ever since this arrived so it's definitely got my approval and I can finally see now why Luxie brushes are so well hyped about. They're pretty pricey though and this one retails for £26.50, so I think it's amazing that they managed to add one into this month's box as that's definitely not a price most people can afford to pay for one single brush!

Product Value: £26.50

James Read Self Tan Glow Mask

Also in the box, we are getting a 1 Hour Tan Glow Mask from James Read which can be used on both the face and body. I haven't tried this one yet but it sounds really interesting as you can control the results depending on how long you leave the mask on for..

30 minutes - Golden Glow
60 minutes - Medium Tan
90 minutes - Deep Bronze

It also has special Tantone Technology which helps to ensure you get the most natural matched finish for your skintone. I'm very intrigued to put that to the test as I'm pretty pale, so it will definitely be interesting to see what kind of tan it gives my skin! Aswell as the tanning benefits, the mask is also enriched with some great skincare ingredients too including Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and Algae Extract to help keep the skin hydrated and the colour lasting for longer. Another great thing about this one is that it has a colourless formula to protect clothing and bedding, meaning no need to worry about having any tanned stained clothes, yay! I'm very excited to give it a go and think it's another great addition to the box, especially for anyone who loves their tan!

Product Value: £12.50

Natura Herb Infused Sheet Mask

Lastly in this month's box we are getting a herb infused sheet mask from the Brand Natura! They are a completely new brand to me but I absolutely love my sheet masks so I was very excited to try one from a different brand. This one aims to rebalance skin tone, reduce enlarged pores and brighten complexion while offering deep hydration and nourishment!

I really enjoyed using the mask and found it felt really refreshing and soothing on the skin, which was such a treat during the warmer weather we had earlier this month! Results wise it left my skin feeling hydrated and also quite plump too, aswell as leaving it with a really nice natural glow which is something I love in a sheet mask. It also seemed to calm down some of the redness on my cheeks that I get at night-time which I wasn't expecting at all, so it's definitely a nice soothing mask too. It didn't seem to make any difference to my pores but I wasn't really expecting a single use mask to do that anyway and overall it's still definitely one I would purchase again. So I'm very happy I got to discover it in this month's box!

Product Value: £4.95

Worth the Price?

Look Fantastic boxes range from £13 to £15 depending on the length of subscription you buy from them, with free delivery included in that price too. This month's box has a value of over £85, which is pretty impressive right? and is over five times the amount you are paying for the actual box, so you are definitely getting amazing value for money with this one!

If you're interested in signing up you can use my code ‘KATEBB’ to recieve your first box for £8 when signing up to a 6 month subscription.

..and that's it! I hope you enjoyed hearing about what's inside the August Look Fantastic box. I'm really impressed again this month and think the box has such a perfect mix of both skincare and makeup products, including that stunning highlighter palette that I can't wait to keep using!

Let me know in the comments if you've tried any boxes from Look Fantastic before and your thoughts?
