Yankee Candle 50th Anniversary Returning Classics: Lily of the Valley

It's time for another candle review but this time it's an extra special one. This year Yankee Candle ( My favourite candle brand! ) are celebrating their 50th Anniversary, yes.. 50 years! They've been making candles ever since 1969, isn't that amazing? To honour the occasion they have launched a Returning Classics collection and have re-released 16 of their most popular candle fragrances from the last 50 years, which is so exciting for us candle addicts. Today I'm going to be sharing a little more about one of the relaunches, Lily of the Valley!

{ This post contains pr samples }

The scent

The Lily of the Valley scent is one that was released in the 1980's and has still remained a classic for many years after, it's a completely new scent to me though personally! The blend is described as being 'Like a bridal bouquet capturing traditional lily and subtle soft green notes' and has a gorgeous blend of scents including:

Top Notes
Lily of the Valley

Middle Notes
Rose and Muguet

Base Notes
Musk

So this one has a really simple blend compared to some of the more complex Yankee Candle scents that are around these days but I think that works perfectly for this particular scent, creating such a classic blend. I would describe the scent as a delicate clean floral blend with an almost baby powder like touch to it, possibly from the musky notes. I'm a big fan and think the blend is spot on! I can definitely see why this one's been such a popular release for Yankee Candle now after finally trying it and think it will stay a classic for many years to come too.

Scent throw wise I would say this one has a medium scent throw, it's not as strong as some of the Yankee Candle scents I've tried in the past but still fills a room really nicely with that gorgeous blend. It would be perfect for anyone that's not a fan of stronger scents and looking for something a little less overpowering to have in their home!

Burn time

Yankee Candle large jars have a burn time of between 110 and 150 hours, so you're definitely getting a lot of burn time out of this one. I've found the Yankee Candle burn times written on their website have always matched up with how long my candles have burned for, so I'm pretty confident this ones going to last between those times and more towards the 140-150 hours with the way it's going so far, which I think is pretty amazing for a candle!

Worth the price?

The jar retails for £23.99 meaning it's quite an expensive candle purchase however you're getting a huge burn time for that price, so in the long run I think it's definitely worth it. The Returning Classic candle also comes in an extra special jar too with Lily of the Valley flower illustrations, reflective silver detailing and the 'Returning Classics Rééndition' logo which I think looks gorgeous. It also comes with a golden 50th Anniversary Edition sticker wrapped around the top which finishes the design off perfectly, making it look like one  very luxury candle!

..and that's it! I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on one of the new Returning Classics from Yankee Candle. I think it is such an amazing idea to celebrate their big anniversary this way, I'll definitely have to check out the other Returning Classic scents now when I'm next shopping!

Let me know in the comments what your favourite Yankee Candle scent is?
