OPV Beauty: A new favourite brand?

Around a month ago some items from OPV Beauty arrived in the post, and I'm so excited to share my thoughts on a few of them! I hadn't actually heard anything about this brand before, so went in with no expectations and was surprisingly blown away, it's been a good while since I've been this excited about a new product but these definitely changed

The first product I've been loving is their Yemoja eyeshadow palette, and isn't this just stunning? It contains a range of 12 shades that are perfect for creating a variety of different looks, my favourite being 'Ayao' which is a very pretty pink champagne shade with light golden reflects, so this looks stunning when the light catches the eyes, like really stunning! The only shade that's missing for me is a lighter transition shade as this palette is definitely lacking one of those, apart from that though I'm a big fan of all of these shades, especially the beautiful shimmers.

The palette is actually inspired by the Nigerian goddess of Yoruba, the protectress of women, love and healing. I love that they have a strong inspiration behind the overall palette, that reflects in both the shades and the packaging, a lovely touch which makes it feel extra special! Packaging wise this is cardboard that's easily closed with a magnet, and even though it's obviously not the most luxurious I love the design and also how all the shades are layed out! The only downside to me is that there isn't a mirror but the pretty shades definitely make up for that.

Quality wise, I am so impressed! The matte shades are really pigmented and easy to blend. The shimmer shades apply over the top beautifully too, I usually find some shimmers apply best with my fingers but these actually seem to work best with brushes, which I like as that means better precision! Fallout wise the kick back in this palette is tiny, I've only had a little bit every now and again but it's really not noticeable at all. Overall, I'm really SO impressed and can see this definitely becoming a popular palette, I love how each shade is designed to work with every other shade in the palette.. no random shades added in to fill up the space like in some palettes out there at the moment, so that was another huge tick for me!

Next up is a product I've been using almost everyday, and it's their liquid illuminator in the shade Snow Flake ( love the name! ) which is a gorgeous pearl like pink shade, and I would imagine this would compliment so many skin tones. My favourite way to use this is applied to my cheek bones underneath foundation, it adds such a gorgeous glow to the skin that really does last all day, it wears so much better than any powder highlighters I have at the moment, meaning no need to worry about having to top up throughout the day, yay! Another way I like to use this is by adding a few drops into my moisturiser, before applying foundation which helps to add a healthy glow to the whole face, which is a life saver for someone with dry skin like me.

The only downside for me is that this is a little pricey, but I've honestly not found a cheaper liquid alternative that's anywhere near as good as this one as of yet so you do get what you pay for in my opinion. It's definitely become a new staple for me and I can't recommend it enough, I'm tempted to order some more shades to try out already!

Price: £34.99

I hope you enjoyed hearing about two of my new beauty favourites from OPV Beauty, I'm so pleasantly surprised by this brand and can't wait to keep on using these products, especially that beautiful Yemoja palette. They are definitely not the cheapest price wise but are worth every penny in my opinion, so I'm desperate to try more from the brand now especially some lip products!

Let me know in the comments if you've tried anything from OPV Beauty before, and your thoughts?

~ This post contains gifted items, however as always all opinions are completely my own. ~

  1. Oh girl that palette is right up my street! I loveee the inspiration behind the palette and the fact that there are a lot of shimmery shades is perfect for me! I also love liquid highlight products but thats a steep price! i've got a barrym liquid chrome highlighter drops in the shade precious pearls and its pretty similiar and i loveee the quality of it and its only £6.99, however not sure how it would compare to this one at a much higher price x
