New Pixi liquid fairy lights

In today's post I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on the new liquid fairy lights from Pixi Beauty, which are gorgeous glittery liquid eyeshadows. I've been obsessed with these over the past few weeks, and I think they've become one of my favourite Pixi releases so far, so I'm very excited to share some more about them with you!

As far as I'm aware there are just 5 shades in the collection so far, but I'm sure there will be more coming soon as these have been such a popular release..

Crystalline - An iridescent silver diamond
• Sunray - A yellow gold
• Bare Brilliance - A pale champagne rose
• Rose gold - Rose gold
• Passionlight - A rich copper bronze

There's a gorgeous selection of shades here, and I think of all them can be worn for both everyday looks and more glam looks too depending on how intense the finish! My personal favourite is the Rose Gold shade, which is a gorgeous rose gold like colour with silver reflects, which look incredible when the shadow catches the light.. which is definitely ideal for the summer months!

A close second is the 'Crystalline' shade which is a gorgeous silver diamond like colour with the most amazing iridescent reflects. I love popping this one on my lid, even just for everyday wear as it brightens up any makeup look and really makes the eyes pop! So, if you're into your diamond/silver style eyeshadows then I think you'll really like this shade.

The formula of these shadows really is lovely, I was really surprised to see just how easily these apply for such a glittery finish.. the glitter doesn't feel chunky formula wise at all, which I was also surprised about as these look alot more glittery than most liquid eyeshadows I've tried before now! I know alot of people tend to stray away from liquid eyeshadows as they think they are difficult to apply, but these really are the opposite..

These can either be applied on their own or on top of another eyeshadow, personally I prefer using these on top of another eyeshadow as it gives it a nice base, but these do look gorgeous alone too. I would say the consistensy gets heavier and less sheer as the shades get darker, so the lightest two shades are probably best worn as a topper over a base first rather than alone.. but that's just my personal preference!

I like to apply these myself with the doe-foot applicator, and then blend them out lightly by patting with my fingers as I've found this works alot better than a brush and it doesn't take away any of that gorgeous product. If you're new to liquid eyeshadows, I would say maybe apply a little at a time with these at first as that definitely worked best with me when I was first getting used to applying the formula!

One thing I love about Pixi as a brand is that they always have some kind of skincare benefit within their products, and this release was no exception.. the formula is infused with chamomile and rose extracts, to sooth and hydrate the skin.. which I think is amazing, and really helps to stop these from being drying on the eyelids. So, overall formula wise I'm a big fan.. I definitely think these are going to become very popular this year and I'm very excited to see if they'll bring out more shades too!

One of my favourite things about liquid eyeshadows is that they seem to last so much better than any powder form, and this formula is exactly the same! Once applied these dry down so quickly, and once they are completely dried down these really don't budge at all. The only downside to that is that you do need to work quite quickly when applying them, but I found that's pretty much standard with most liquid eyeshadows too!

So, wear wise I really can't fault these, and that's even without any eyeshadow primer, these just last all day for me so well with no issues, no creasing and no fallout.. yay!

The prices vary depending on the retailer, and the best I've found them is on Cult Beauty for £15, which is obviously an expensive price for just one eyeshadow but compared to alot of other high end brands it actually isn't too bad.. especially when considering just how longwearing these are and how gorgeous the finish is.

There's obviously some great drugstore brands bringing out liquid eyeshadows and glitters too, but out of all of the ones I've tried these have definitely been the best and I will for sure be purchasing the rose gold shade when mine runs out, as I've been reaching for it constantly ever since it's arrived!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on the new liquid fairy lights from Pixi, I think these are absolutely gorgeous and they have definitely become a new favourite for me, especially the Rose gold and Crystalline shades. I can't wait to see whether they bring out any more shades soon as the formula really is fantastic! Let me know in the comments if you've tried the new liquid fairy lights yet and your thoughts?
