Maison Margiela Flower Market perfume

In today's post I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on the Flower Market fragrance from Maison Margiela.. and isnt it beautiful? This fragrance is available to buy from World Duty Free at an amazingly discounted price and I'm so excited to share my opinion on it with you!

If you hadn't heard of the Replica scents before, they are actually fragrances based on specific places, events and settings..

"Marked with its provenance and period, each fragrance recreates moments and olfactive memories, triggering images that echo the collective unconscious as well as our own personal history."

I am totally on board with this idea and I truly believe that scents and memories have a connection, well in my experience anyway! I think the details are such a lovely addition to the bottle, and I love that the actual packaging has a picture of the setting on too. I really like that the perfume itself has a pink tint too it aswell, which I think adds such a pretty finish to the overall look.

The only downside is that as this is a pretty big perfume it would be quite hard to just pop in your handbag, but apart from that I really do love the design and packaging of this fragrance.. I think the bottle definitely reflects the high price this fragrance costs as I think it's gorgeous!

This fragrance "carries the scent of fresh cut flowers in the buckets and vases of a Parisian flower market in 2011," it has notes of notes of crushed leaves, freesia, sambac jasmine from India, Egyptian jasmine, tuberose, rose from Grasse, peach, cedarwood and oakmoss... and my verdict? It's absolutely stunning! This definitely feels like a Luxury fragrance and I think the blend really is spot on with this one.

The blend is obviously floral, but it doesn't feel like some of those heavy floral scents at all, it's such a light fragrance overall.. perfect for daytime but it's also such an elegant scent too, which makes this just as perfect for evening wear aswell which I don't find with too many lighter fragrances these days. The strongest notes for me seem to be the rose and the fressia, but even though it's a heavily floral based fragrance it isn't overpoweringly floral at all and the other scents seem to balance the scent out really well.

This is definitely the perfect scent for both spring and summer, it's such an airy feminine fragrance and it feels very fresh and natural too, which I really like. So, overall scent wise I have no complaints with this one at all, it's so hard to fully describe a scent through my blog but I really do recommend giving this one a try if you see it in store!

For such a light scent I was actually surprised to see how well this lasted, it's not the most long-lasting perfume I own for sure but the scent does linger on the skin for the majority of the day. It obviously becomes less intense after the first couple of hours wear, and becomes more subtle but for such a light scent I'm pretty impressed with this one!

I do have a tip though for making scents last longer, and that's to use a little of the Dr Paw Paw multi purpose balm on the wrists and neck before spritzing the perfume on. This trick works so well for me, and really helps my own perfumes to last a lot longer, especially in this warm weather we've been having lately!

The only downside to this perfume is that it is very expensive and costs £95, However at World Duty Free you can buy it for £76.. so that's definitely the place to buy it if you're looking to purchase the scent. I really couldn't justify paying this much for a perfume all the time, but if you're looking to splurge out on a new one or treat a loved one then I definitely recommend giving this one a try whilst passing through Duty free, as I'm in love with this scent!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on the Flower Market perfume, I really do love this scent.. it's definitely become one of my favourites right now, so I'm very excited to keep on wearing this one! Let me know in the comments if you've tried any of the Replica scents yet, and your thoughts?

* This post contains a gifted item, however as always all opinions are my own.

  1. The packaging is so pretty and I like the sound of the scent. If only I could justify the price haha xxx

  2. That's a really great idea they've come up with. I'd love to try it and see if it actually reminds me of a Paris flower market.

And that's a pretty huge bottle for the money! Their packaging is so simple and pretty ๐Ÿ˜ love it.

  3. This is beautiful! Floral scents are my absolute favourite and even more so if they're light and sweet. The packaging is to die for but I do agree that is quite a steep price, especially for a brand I'd never heard of until now! Despite that, if I liked the smell enough then I would invest. I'd like to give this a try! And thanks for the tip about the Dr PawPaw, never heard of that before but I'll for sure be trying it out!!

  4. I definitely agree with you that a scent can bring back memories, because I’m exactly the same, but I had never heard of replica scents. Even though I obviously can’t smell it, with the way you’ve described it, I can image it so well. I haven’t bought a fragrance in a while, I think I may need to browse the replica range! Beautiful photography once again!
