CND Boho Spirit Collection

Today's post is going to be another nail polish related one! CND have just launched a new collection in time for summer, their Boho spirit collection.. which comprises of four creamy shades to suit every skin tone, and every summer occasion whether it's a festival or a trip to the beach! So, I'm very excited to share my thoughts on some of the shades with you..

There are four new shades in the collection:

Offbeat - A punchy red/pink
• Uninhibited - A peachy coral
• Vagabond - A primrose yellow
• Gypsy - A zesty orange

I think the range of shades in the collection all look gorgeous, especially the pinks. I've been trying out two of the shades: 'Gypsy' and 'Offbeat', which are both definitely the perfect summer colours, and give me all of those holiday vibes! 'Gypsy' is the orange shade, and even though it is a gorgeous orange it's a little too bright for me, however I've been able to calm this down by applying this to just my ring finger, and painting the others another shade.. which I think looks really pretty. If you're into your brighter and more unique shades, then I think you'll love this one though!

My favourite however has to be the 'Offbeat' shade, which is such a pretty punch like red colour, as you'll be able to see in the photos below. This is such a 'me' colour, and is one I've been reaching for alot lately.. I'm actually heading to Sorrento in September and this one will definitely be coming away with me then. Shades like this are my go to throughout the summer months and I think they add such a summery and chic finish to any outfit!

I've tried a few shades from the Vinylux range before and loved them, and these polishes were just as good..

The way the Vinylux range is supposed to be applied is firstly with two coats of the long wear polish, then followed by one coat of their Vinylux long wear top coat. This method is supposed to give the nails a gel like finish, and I can say the method definitely works well! Finish wise both of the shades along with the top coat over the top give the nails a really pretty shiny finish, perfect with summer time now here.

Aswell as the finish I've found the polish really easy to apply too, the orange shade needed two coats which is pretty standard for a nail polish these days, but the red like shade only needed one as it is just so pigmented and rich, so I was definitely impressed there. It does take around 5-10 minutes to apply all of the coats alongside the Vinylux top coat and wait for them to dry down completely, but its definitely worth the extra time and effort in the long run, as with this method they will definitely last you a full week.

Apart from how the nail polish looks, the polishes also contain an infusion of vitamin E, keritin and jojoba oil to help keep the nails feeling hydrated whilst the polish is on, which is something I definitely think more brands need to do as I find some nail polishes tend to leave my nails feeling pretty dry. After removing the polish, each time I've actually been quite surprised to see how healthy my nails have looked especially after around a weeks wear.. My nails have seemed to have a really nice healthy shine to them too, which I wasn't expecting at all so that was definitely a nice unexpected bonus!

Both the shades have lasted me really well! I've found they've lasted around 4-7 days, depending on what I'm doing which I think is pretty impressive. So, if you are interested in buying any I definitely recommend buying the top coat too as it's for sure one of the most long lasting combos I've tried in a long time.. I've actually been looking on their website and they have a huge range of shades out with their Vinylux finish, and there's a few more shades I am lusting over already!

The polishes retail from around £10.95 for a 15ml bottle depending on where you are buying them from, so the price is definitely a little more than I would usually pay for a nail polish but I really can't fault these quality wise at all! The top coat also retails for the same price too, I actually own two of the top coats now but am still on my first bottle which I had just before christmas, so it's definitely going to last you a good amount of time depending on how often you paint your nails.

They do often have bundles available to buy which makes the polishes work out quite abit cheaper, so if you're looking to buy a few different shades it's definitely worth having a look at those too!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on two of the shades from the new CND Boho spirit collection, I think this is such a pretty range especially the 'Offbeat' shade! Let me know if you've ever tried any products from CND before, and your thoughts?

  1. I love a good set of nail polishes, and you've found some here. The two that you tried out are such lovely tones. They would look so nice as nail art; pretty flowers and patterns for sure! I'm also so jealous you're going to Sorrento. Have a great time, and I can't wait to see the photos.

  3. My favourite one is the dark one and offbear. I am not so sure about the orange one, same as you, because I feel it's too much like orange juice - I don't know, I'm just rumbling!

  4. Ooh these sound just fabulous! The shades are super cute, I especially like the orange one as it's just so summery! I've been loving bright coloured accessories recently so I feel like it'd go so well with them. They're on the expensive side for nail varnishes but the way you've described the quality of them sounds like they are worth investing in if you're into doing your own nails! Love your photos in this post Kate they're so pretty!
