Behind the blog: Sophie Hearts

Today on the blog I am going to be starting the first of my 'Behind the blog' series posts, I'm looking forward to sharing some question and answer style posts with lots of amazing bloggers over the next few weeks and months. Today's is in collaboration with twenty three year old Sophie from the blog Sophie Hearts. She's a city girl at heart, but is currently living in Norfolk with her partner and cat! So let's hear more about her..

Tell me more about your blog?

Sophie Hearts is built around everything I love and enjoy writing about. I class it as a lifestyle blog so that I can create content around travel, beauty, fashion, food and everything else that I enjoy!

Besides blogging, what else do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love reading.. books and other blogs provide me with so much inspiration and enjoyment. Aside from that, just everything else that comes with the blogging 'package', so spending time on social media, creating content and interacting with other bloggers and content creators!

Do you have any holy grail beauty items?

Yes! I have a few that I couldn't be without, but the ones that come to mind straight away are the Estee Lauder Double Wear Coverage foundation and Clinique's Moisture Surge skincare range!

Who's inspired you the most with regards to your blog?

When I began blogging I was inspired by a few big bloggers, In The Frow and Lydia Elise Millen to name a couple. Since becoming a part of the blogging community though, I seem to be finding inspiration in so many amazing smaller bloggers like yourself!

How do you stay motivated and organised with your blog?

With regards to my blog, I find that motivation comes quite easily, simply because its something that I absolutely love working on. Organisation is a little more difficult but a regular posting schedule, a strictly monitored e-mail account with various folders, and a 'to do' box of products all help to keep me in check!

If you could only buy from one beauty brand for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

Ohh this is so hard. Is it cheating to say Cult Beauty? I'm going to have to cheat if it is because it's far to difficult for me to whittle it down any more than that!

What's one book you always recommend to people?

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier has always been one of my favourites, but for no particular reason, and I haven't read it in years!

Do you have any skincare secrets?

I don't have any secrets per say, but I do believe in the importance of a very strict skincare routine. As a rule I absolutely never go to bed without completing at least a very basic cleansing routine.

Which Disney character do you relate to the most, and why?

I'm going to have to say Belle. From a very early age I've loved escaping the real world by getting lost in a good book. Although I'm not quite as inventive and ahead of my time as she is, I've also known what its like to feel as though I don't fit in.

What do you love the most about the Disney parks?

They're just absolutely magical aren't they? I can't even put my finger on exactly how Disney Parks make you feel the way that they do but they're just the happiest places in the world, and their fireworks are absolutely unrivalled.

Where has been your favourite travel destination so far?

This is a tricky one because I've loved everywhere I've traveled, but I'm going to have to say Florida.

Where is on your bucket list to travel to next?

I'm hoping that our next holiday will be California, with a few days in the Disney Parks there because I've not visited those ones before.

What's been your favourite blog post you've published so far and why?

I think that for sentimental reasons, my favourites are ones which include details about places I've travelled like my Greek Travel Edit Look Book, just because I love to look back on them as they remind me of happy times.

What advice do you have for any new bloggers?

It depends on the motive behind the blog, but generally I'd say do your research. When I began mine I kind of jumped right in and in retrospect I'd have probably benefitted from a little more planning and research. I had no idea what kind of things I was going to write about or how often, and kind of rushed into it a little.

Thank you for reading the first of my behind the blog posts, make sure to check out Sophies blog and socials below, and stay tuned for lots more behind the blog posts coming very soon!
