Bath and Body Works: Summertime Soda Pop candle

You will all know by now that I am absolutely candle obsessed, so today on the blog I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on the Summertime Soda Pop candle from Bath and Body works, I am in love with this scent and think that it's just perfect for the summer months so I'm excited to talk about it in abit more detail in this post!

Personally I love this particular packaging, I know it's not the most grown up of candles as it's pretty bright, and is probably not everyones cup of tea but I really do like it! It gives me all of the summer vibes with the fun orange wax, and blue soda pop illustrations. The only downside is that if you're trying to stick to a colour theme with your room, for example pink and white then this one would probably stand out abit too much.. but for me that's not a bad thing, as I love the bright and fun colours, and think they add such a summery feel to my bedroom!

I love the style of the Bath and Body Works three wick candle jars, with the pretty patterned silver lids! I think they look so lovely out on display, so I can definitely see why they are so popular just from the packaging alone! They look gorgeous when burned too, the three wicks create such a cosy feel to any room, so I imagine this style of candle would be perfect to burn throughout the winter months, just not this particular scent, haha! It feels like a pretty weighty candle too which I like, and makes it feel like more of a luxury candle.

"Crisp lime, Zesty lemon and a splash of soda."

Think citrus, with a hint of bubbliness.. the scent really is gorgeous and is definitely the ideal scent with summer now here. The lemon and lime scents seem to balance together so well and really compliment eachother, along with the splash of soda.. which adds a gorgeous fizziness to the overall scent just like a real life soda! The lemon comes accross as the strongest scent for me, but the lime is definitely well prominent too. So, I think if you like either of those scents, especially lemon then you'll be a big fan of this one, just like me!

I had to have this swabbed in the airport flying home, and even the customs officer complimented the scent and asked me where it was from, and judging by what I'm seeing online too this seems to be a popular scent with everyone who's tried it.. and I can see why, I mean what's not to love about a fresh fizzy citrus scent? So, overall scent wise I'm a huge fan of this one and would definitely repurchase it again in the future, it's such a refreshing scent that will have you craving your favourite lemon/lime soda!

The scent throw of this candle is amazing, I had obviously heard great things about the Bath and Body work candles from others but I never imagined them to be this good. Once the wax starts to pool, that gorgeous citrus soda like scent starts to fill a room so easily. I've been burning this one in my bedroom, and I've even been able to smell the scent whilst coming up the stairs, which I was definitely impressed with!

The approximate burn time for this one on the Bath and Body Works website is 25-45 hours, and judging by how it's burning so far I definitely think this one will have a burn time of atleast 40 hours, but I'll update you and let you know once I've finished burning it completely! So for the price I think that's a pretty good amount of time, very similar to the large jars from yankee candle! Another thing I love about their three wick candles is that they burn so evenly, so you won't need to worry about any wasted wax with this candle whatsoever.

The original retail price for this one is $24.50 but I managed to pick it up in the semi annual sale in June for around $10, which converted to pounds would be a bargain for a candle this size. $24.50 is obviously alot pricier, but is pretty much the standard price for their three wick candles. I hate spending big chunks of money like this on larger candles, but I've definitely turned into a candle addict over the past few years, and can't resist sometimes, especially if it's a fruity scent as they're my favourite kind!

So, although I really can't fault the candle price wise it's definitely more than I'd like to pay, especially considering that there are some amazing cheaper alternatives right now! But, if you're like me and can't resist then I would definitely recommend waiting for a sale as they always have amazing reductions.

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on the Bath and Body Works Summertime soda pop candle, I really do love this scent.. it's such a gorgeous fruity blend, perfect for burning throughout the summer months, or all year round if you're a fan of fruity based scents like myself! Let me know in the comments if you've tried this candle yet, and your thoughts?

  3. I saw this candle when I was in the Bath and Body Works in New York, but wasn't too sure on the scent. I ended up picking a pineapple and mango one and it's delicious. I love the quality of these candles, and to pick them up in the sale is just an added bonus! x

  5. I actually really love the packaging of this, it's so bright and fun. I also think you got a real bargain with this, $24.50 is a bit more than I'd probably pay but $10 for 40 hours of burning is pretty great! The scent description you've given is making me want to smell this so much; I love fruity scents so I think I'd be obsessed with this!
