New York Haul

If you've been following me over on Instagram you'll have seen that this month I went on holiday to New York, and I went a little crazy shopping wise! I picked up a range of things including bits from Sephora, Bath and body works and of course lots and lots of American candy.. So I'm excited to share what I picked up with you in today's post!

First up are some bits from Sephora, the Sephora in Times Square was incredible and I couldn't get over how huge it was! They had so many great bundles too, and the first one I picked up was the Sephora 'Give me some lip' favourites set which contains six different lip products:

Grande Lips, 'Smoked Sherry' plumping liquid lipstick.
• Urban Decay Hi-Fi shine lip gloss.
• Kat Von D, 'Lovecraft' lipstick.
• Anastasia Beverly Hills, 'Ruby' matte lipstick (full size).
• Tarte, 'Bora' H20 gloss.
• Bite, 'Pink pearl' lipstick.

I couldn't resist this set, even though alot of the products are travel or sample size I think the Sephora favourites sets are such good value, and such a good way to try out multiple brands in one go. I also think the packaging of this one is so pretty too, so I'm definitely going to have to find a nice place to store this!

I also picked up two makeup bits from the Sephora own brand, a single eyeshadow and a lipstick. The lipstick is from their Lip stories collection, which I hadn't seen before but they looked gorgeous.. they all have their own unique design on the packaging which I love too! I picked up the shade 'Take a spin', which is a really pretty metal nude lipstick, I'll probably actually do a full review of this one over on my blog too as I am in love with the formula and finish so far.

The second product I picked up was one of their single eyeshadows, in the shade 'Ballet slippers', how adorable is the name? I haven't had chance to try this one out yet but it's a very pretty shimmery pearl like shade.. which looks just like one of my go to shades so I'm very excited to try this one out soon!

Also from Sephora I picked up the travel size Tarte Rainforest of the Sea 4-in-1 setting mist, I've tried some lipsticks out from this collection and loved them so was desperate to try something else from the range, and I've heard only good things about this one. It aims to prime, set, hydrate and refresh the skin, so I'm very excited to see whether this one lives up to the hype or not.

I can't remember the exact price of this one but it was around $10 to $12, so it wasn't too expensive at all for Tarte! Also, how pretty is the packaging too? You'll know how much of a sucker I am for some cute packaging by the end of this post, haha!

I love the Sephora face masks, so I picked up two new ones this time: Their grape eye mask and the pineapple face mask, I haven't tried either of these yet but I'll make sure to let you know how I get on once I do! I'm especially excited to try out the pore perfecting and smoothing mask, as that sounds like something my skin definitely needs right now.

The Sephora facemasks are just a couple of dollars, and I've loved all the ones I've tried so far so I highly recommend picking a few up if you ever pass a Sephora. My favourite so far has been their Rose mask, it's such a hydrating one!

You're going to be shocked now, but I only picked up one tiny Disney thing this trip! The times square Disney store was amazing but nothing seemed to jump out to me product wise, but I did pick up this super cute Marie lip smacker which I think is adorable.. I've been using this everyday since I got back and it has left my lips feeling amazing, it also has a lovely pear scent too. I picked this up in Walgreens for around $5, they had so many other Disney characters too but I restricted myself to just one this time!

One of my favourite shops in New York was the Hershey store, it was filled with Hershey chocolate, Twizzlers and Reeces.. So basically my idea of heaven. I went a little crazy in this shop, and I definitely have eyes bigger than my belly. I haven't tried any of these yet, but the bits I am most excited about are the cheesecake filled Hershey drops.. don't they look and sound amazing? Also the twizzlers, they had so many new fun flavours so I'm very excited to try these, especially the strawberry lemonade and orange cream pop filled ones.

I also picked up a cherry cheesecake Hershey bar too, which sounds very strange so I'm either going to love or hate this one but I'm very intrigued to try it anyway! I definitely recommend going to the Hershey store if you're ever in New York as it's amazing, and I found everything to be really reasonably priced too, which was a great bonus!

One brand I wanted to buy some bits from whilst I was in New York was Wet and Wild as it's not sold here in the UK and I always hear so many amazing things about the brand! It's super afforable too, most of the things I picked up were only a few dollars which I was so surprised about.

First I picked up one of their gel lip liners in the shade 'Bare to comment' which is such a pretty nude, I'm loving this so far as it's so creamy and pigmented. Next I picked up their 'Walking on eggshells' eye shadow quad, as the shades in this looked gorgeous and even though it's pretty small it cost me just $2.99, so it was super cheap!

I then picked up one of their mega glow highlighters in the shade 'Blossom glow', I don't have any highlighters in this kind of shade so I'm very excited to try this one as I've heard amazing things about their highlighters! Lastly from this brand I picked up one of their dewy photo focus face primers, I was running out of my current primer whilst I was there so that's the main reason I picked this up, but it turned out to be amazing, it feels so lightweight and it really seems to help to smooth the skin out before applying foundation too!

Time for more sweets.. I picked up a bunch of random sweets and chocolate from Walgreens. Firstly I made sure I was stocked up on some cookies and cream Hershey drops, which are my favourite American treat.. if you haven't tried them you need too! Another thing I picked up were the caramel M&M's, we can't get them here in the UK and everyone seems to go crazy for them.. I tried a pack of these whilst I was in New York and they are SO good but warning they are very addictive too.

Lastly for sweets I just picked up a random selection that I thought would be fun to try out, because American candy is so cheap over there compared to how much we pay over here.. so yes I definitely went a little crazy with the sweets and chocolate, haha!

Whilst we were in New York it was the Bath and Body works Semi Annual sale, so it was perfect timing.. I mean who could resist a $10 candle? This was my first time in bath and body works, and I was definitely in my element.

First up I picked up two of their three wick candles, everybody seems to rave about these so I couldn't resist buying some. I picked up the scents 'Watermelon lemonade' and 'Summertime soda pop' which is a lovely fruity citrus scent. These both smell amazing, I've been burning these already and the scent throw is SO strong.. the scent also lingers really well too which I love, so I'm so glad I picked both of these up!

You'll all know by now that Bath and Body Works are famous for their pocket bacs, and these were 5 for $6, so super cheap! I picked up a few different scents:

'Peach Bellini'
• 'Watermelon lemonade'
• 'My unicorn made me do it'
• 'Juicy Watermelon'
• 'A thousand wishes'

They had SO many scents in store, so it was very hard to narrow them down to just five but I am loving these so far especially the Juicy Watermelon scent, which is so refreshing! If you're ever in the states I definitely recommend picking a few of these up as they are perfect for popping in your handbag for on the go!

I picked up a few random body mists and shower gels, which all smell so lovely and fresh. I need to shout out their Fresh sea salt and mango scent though as this smells incredible, it's the perfect summer scent so if you're ever in Bath and Body Works this year I definitely recommend trying this one out as I have become obsessed with it!

I also picked up two of their bath bombs in the scents Japanese cherry blossom, and watermelon lemonade. I haven't heard anyone speak about these before, so I have no idea what they are going to be like but as it was the sale I thought these would be fun to try out and see.

Lastly from Bath and Body works, about time right?! I picked up two of their face masks. These were just $1.50 in the sale, so super cheap again. The first one I picked up was their 'Mer-mazing' sheet mask, and this one actually contains real sea minerals so I'm very excited to try this one out!

The second one I picked up was their 'Keep it fruity' Papaya and tea extracts sheet mask, I actually picked this one up at the till because I am the worst person ever for resisting when it comes to shopping! I thought both of these would be perfect summer face masks, and I'll be sure to share my thoughts on them when I get round to trying them both out.

One brand I was desperate to try in America was Physicians Formula, as I've heard some amazing things about this one. First up I picked up their famous butter bronzer in the shade light, this is probably one of the most hyped about drugstore bronzers so I'm very intrigued to try this one out, oh and it also smells like coconut too which is a great little bonus!

I also picked up one of their butter highlighters in the shade 'Pearl' and one of their Blushes in the shade 'Natural', which both look so pretty colour wise. The physicians formula prices are a little higher than drugstore and are priced more around the $10 mark, but hopefully these will turn out to be worth the price.. fingers crossed!

Lastly from Physicians formula is their 'Refreshmint' cucumber and bamboo eye de-puffer. I've been using this ever since I've arrived home and I absolutely love it, if you suffer from sore and tired eyes like myself then I couldnt recommend this enough, it feels so hydrating and cooling on the eyes and I'm definitely a little annoyed I didn't pick up a few more.

Lastly are some bits from Dylan's candy bar, and if you're ever in New York you have to go here! It's a sweet lovers idea of heaven. Firstly, I picked up some of their Cake batter crunch popcorn, which I've heard is amazing so I'm very excited to try this out too!

I also picked up a few of their different chocolate bars:

Red Velvet cake
• Cookie dough
• Bubblegum
• Vanilla cupcake with sprinkles

These all sound so unique, so I'm going to either love or hate these but I thought they would be fun to try anyway! I also picked up their 'You go Glen Coco' mean girls inspired pink hot chocolate, as there was no way I could have resisted this one and I'm glad I picked it up because it tastes pretty amazing too.. and of course because it's pink!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I picked up whilst in New York, as you can see I went a little crazy but I had been saving up for SO long for this trip and couldn't resist some of the amazing shops New York had to offer! Let me know if you've been to New York before, and whether you enjoyed it too?
