Finally trying Pixi skincare.. is it worth the hype?

Over the past month or so I've been trying out four Pixi skincare products, which I have been so excited about as everyone seems to love the skincare from Pixi. I've been trying out a few of their products that aim to add a glow to the skin, which has been perfect with summer now here so I'm excited to share my thoughts on them with you in today's post!

The first product I've been trying is their overnight glow serum, which is a concentrated exfoliating gel. Now this I absolutely love, I've been using this every night since it's arrived and my skin always looks radiant the next morning. I have dry skin myself so struggle to get my skin looking naturally radiant without using makeup, but this has really helped to make a difference.. So if you're into glowy and radiant looking skin then I couldn't recommend this oil enough.

Another thing I've noticed since using this is that it's helped reduce a few patches of redness and dry areas I've had left by spots, which is a big bonus. The product contains Glycolic Acid, which I know is something that works wonders for my skin during and after any breakouts.. just remember to apply sfp extra cautiously when using this as it is a strong acid. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry at all however, it does contain cucumber and aloe too which I think really helps to cool the skin and keep it well hydrated!

Texture wise this isn't like an oil at all, it's definitely more of a gel like formula which I've never tried in an overnight product before but it definitely does the trick and I'm a big fan! Price wise, this one retails for £26 so it's obviously not the cheapest but I find most oils seem to range around that price these days.

The next skincare product I've been trying is their Glow mist, which is enriched with 13 natural oils, alongside soothing and hydrating propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts. The main thing I've been using this for is as a primer before applying my makeup, and it's such a good fixing spray.. I love spritzing my beauty blender with this too as I think it really helps to add some moisture to my foundation and give my foundation a more natural and radiant finish!

Skincare wise, this is a lovely facial spritz, it soaks up into the skin really well and even though it contains oils it doesn't feel greasy or oily on the skin at all. I wouldn't say this is a heavy duty moisturiser, but it definitely does give some hydration to the skin and that's coming from someone with very dry skin.. Aswell as adding moisture I've also found it helps to keep the skin really really refreshed too! I will definitely be taking this on holiday with me this summer, as I would imagine this would be a little lifesaver in the heat and really help to cool down the face.

My only downside and it's a small one is that quite alot of product does come out with one spritz of this compared to the other facial sprays I have, so be sure you're spraying this at a good arms length! The mist retails for £16 at the moment and that's for a 80ml bottle, so it is on the pricier side for a facial mist but I really do like this one and I will definitely consider repurchasing it when I run out.

Another product I've been trying out is their Glow 02 oxygen mask. This one aims to help with congested complexions by aiming to 'feed’ cells starved of precious oxygen to restore radiance and counteract fatigue. The mask aims to help with tiredness, by infusing the skin with a cocktail of precious vitamins, detoxifying caffeine and free radical-fighting antioxidants. So, I was very excited to try this one out!

I really am trying hard to think of some negatives about these products, but Pixi seem to be nailing their skincare and this is turning into another favourite. This one does feel slightly sticky, but as it's a mask that's going to be washed away I don't really mind.. it's also easily spread out across the face evenly too! It does subtly have a bubbling effect on the skin, but it's not like some of those crazy looking bubble masks you see on Instagram. It does tingle the skin a little, but not so much that it's unpleasant and that's coming from someone with quite sensitive skin.

Now for results, it definitely does make the skin look brighter and more radiant instantly which is amazing.. but I think this isn't a product to use if you're looking for long term results as this seems to be a quick fix, which is what alot of masks are anyway, right? But for the short term effects, this really is an amazing mask and I think this would be the perfect mask to use before an event as you really only need this on for 2/3 minutes to see the results. This definitely seems to wake up my own skin, and give it a much brighter looking complection, so if you're looking for a quick fix then I really do recommend this one!

I also love that this one has a pump dispenser, meaning you can get the perfect amount of product out without having to waste any as this is pretty pricey for a mask. It retails for around £26, which is very expensive for a mask in my opinion.. but I suppose I could easily drop £5 on one sheet mask, where I could get so much more use for my money with these.

The last product I've been trying is the Jasmine oil blend, and this one aims to help skin to recover from loss of moisture and dullness. The formula is infused with jasmine flower extract, evening primrose and grapeseed oil, making it rich in omegas, antioxidants and vitamins to nourish and protect skin. I love how this oil applies, it seems to absorb pretty quickly into the skin and leaves the skin looking glowy rather than oily and greasy like some oils.. so that was a little bonus already for me!

If you're a long time reader of my blog you'll know I suffer from dry skin, so this oil has become a little lifesaver for me. I've been applying this in the morning, and it definitely seems to give my skin that extra shot of hydration it needs. I have been suffering from really bad dry patches around my nose for months now and this has almost completely cleared those dry patches up, which I didn't expect from this product at all. That alone just shows how much moisture this product must pack into the skin.. So, if you're a fellow dry skin sufferer then I think you'll love this oil!

This one retails for £26, so it's pricey but as I said before I think most oils seem to be around this price these days. I think using this and the overnight oil together works so well, I've got into a routine of applying this one in the morning and the overnight oil just before bed and that seems to be working so well for my skin!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on some Pixi skincare products, as you can see from my reviews I think Pixi skincare is 100% worth the hype. I tried so hard to think of negatives for these products, but they are honestly just SO good.. I definitely need to try more Pixi skincare in the future because judging from these four alone they are doing an amazing job. Let me know if you have any Pixi skincare favourites?

  5. I've only tried a few Pixi items but they are always so good (in my experience). I really love the sound of the mask, that sounds fun, and the overnight serum sounds incredible for helping to hydrate dry skin like mine. Once I have some spare cash I think I'll be investing!
