Pixi x Weylie collaboration

Pixi have recently brought out lots of exciting new products in collaboration with three amazing beauty influencers. I'm going to be doing a review on each influencer collaboration, but I thought it would be easier to break them down into three separate posts, so in today's post I'm going to be taking about their collaboration with Weylie Hoang, who is a huge American beauty and lifestyle Youtuber!

Weylie has brought out a dimensional eye creator kit which contains two products, a gorgeous eyeshadow palette and also a dual ended eyeliner pen too. I won't lie, I hadn't actually heard of Weylie until this collaboration, but I checked out her YouTube channel as soon as this product arrived and she has such a lovely bubbly personality.. and from the makeup side of things in her tutorials she always seems to end up looking flawless!

“My kit is all you need for creating perfect definition and dimensions for the eye. Looks great on all eye shades and sizes!”

First up, let's talk about the eyeshadow palette.. isn't it a pretty one? The shades in this palette are some of the shades I tend to reach for the most so I was very excited to try this one out and see whether it lived up to the hype..

The palette includes six gorgeous shades, which are a mix of both mattes and shimmers:

• 'Itty Bitty'
• 'Gurl!'
• 'Potato'
• 'Sista'
• 'Bomb'
• 'Beautis'

I absolutly adore everything about this palette, from the shade range to the formula and I also love that it's the perfect travel size palette too, which is definitely ideal with holiday season approaching us. There's a great mix of shades, perfect for taking a look from day to night, with the pretty shimmers and darker shades.

Pigmentation wise all of the shades are really high in pigment, even the lightest shimmer shades too which I find sometimes lack in pigment in a lot of my other palettes. Each shade applies to the eyes like a dream and they are so easy to blend too, even the darkest shades.. I normally find most dark shades take quite abit longer to blend, but this one blends out so quickly with it's creamy formula! I wouldn't describe the shades as buttery, but they certainly aren't chalky or overly powdery either and apply to the eyes so smoothly.

One of the best things about this palette is how longwearing the shades are, these eyeshadows really do not budge once they are on the eyes. I normally find the lightest shimmer shades from most palettes I already have fade away pretty quickly on the eyes.. but not with this one, so I was very impressed about that aspect of the palette too! The only slight downside to this palette for me is that the shade 'Gurl!' has the tiniest bit of fall out, however apart from that I really can't fault this palette at all. I've been reaching for this one so much lately and its easily become one of my favourite eye palettes, so I can definitely see why it has been a popular release.

Now let's talk about the dual ended liner, which I have such mixed views on after trying them both out multiple times..

The kohl liner is amazing in my opinion, it's super creamy and applies to the eyes like a dream. It's obviously not as thin as your felt tip liners, so it's hard to create a winged eyeliner look with this one but if you prefer a more natural liner look like myself then I think you'll really like this one. Aswell as using this as a regular liner, this one is perfect for tight lining the eyes to give them some extra definition too.

I've also found this liner to be very longwearing, once it's on it really doesn't seem to budge just like the eye shadows.. it's a little less long lasting when used to tightline the eyes but that's to be expected I guess, especially with my sensitive eyes!

Now onto the felt tip liner, which is not my favourite personally. I struggle with eyeliner most of the time but I struggled alot more with this one. I've found that it does bleed on the lids quite alot as it's quite a wet consistensy when applying. I've also found it's quite difficult to get that flawless thin line with this one, don't get me wrong it's not the worst eyeliner I've ever tried.. but for the price, I would give this one a miss. It does have some positives too though however, once it's dried down it doesn't budge at all and it's super longwearing, so it's such a shame about the bleeding.

Now this is a tough one because I absolutely love the palette and half of the dual ended liner, but I really dislike the felt liner. I really wish this wasn't a set and that they were both sold separately as alone I really couldn't recommend the eyeshadow palette enough.

The set retails for £22, and even though one half of the eyeliner is pretty poor in my opinion the other half of the liner and the eyeshadow palette more than makes up for it, so I do think it's worth the price. The eyeshadow palette is definitely something special and has easily become one of my favourites, so it will definitely be coming away to New York with me on holiday next week!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on one of the latest Pixi collaborations. It's such a shame about the eyeliner, but as you can probably tell already I'm obsessed with this eye shadow palette and am very excited to keep using it! Let me know if you've tried any products from the new Pixi collaborations yet, and your thoughts?

  4. I really love Pixi products and that eyeshadow palette is beautiful. I love that pink-ish shimmer shade and the terracotta red one too. So pretty! It's such a shame you didn't get on with the liquid liner, I am so fussy with those though so I'd probably hate it if it bleeds.
