Dermologica Daily Microfoliant review

Today on the blog I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on the Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica, I've been trying this out for a good few weeks now and really seem to like it. Until this product I hadn't tried anything from Dermalogica myself, I always hear such amazing things about their skincare and of course their much hyped Microfoliant, so I was very excited to finally try something from the brand!

Before I start on the review I just want to mention that my skin type is dry and quite sensitive too, I do get a few spots now and again but they mainly appear on my chin and forehead area. However, this product does state that it's suitable for all skin types, which is great!

The product is quite abit different to your regular scrubs and exfoliators, and it actually comes out of the bottle in a powder form.. which I was really intrigued about. At first I thought it was going to be quite time consuming adding water to the powder and mixing it in, but it really isn't at all. You just apply a small amount of powder to wet hands, give it a mix and your good to go! It's recommended to gently rub the paste onto the face in circular motions for around 60 seconds, so it's not too time consuming at all.

The rice based powder activates when mixed into water, which then activates salicylic acid, papain and rice enzymes which all aim to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling brighter and smoother. The product also contains a blend of bearberry and grapefruit, which are both known to help brighten up the appearance of skin!

Aswell as that the powder contains colloidal oatmeal and green tea too, to help sooth and calm the skin.. which is always needed after a good exfoliation! Scent wise, the product doesn't really have a scent at all, it has a slight scent of oatmeal but it's not strong whatsoever. So, if you're not a fan of scented products you don't need to worry with this product at all!

I've been using this every night after cleansing my skin, I've hardly needed any product at all.. so a little definitely goes a long way with this one. My first impressions were that this is definitely more of a gentle exfoliator, so if you're not a fan of harsh grainy scrubs then I think you will really like this one. I have super sensitive skin and normally get at least some redness or irritation with exfoliators, but with this I've had no redness whatsoever.. so that was definitely a nice bonus!

Results wise, I really can see a big difference after using this. My skin overall feels so much smoother and softer, my skin is dry on a good day but after the winter months it's gotten a quite abit worse.. However this has really helped to clear up some uneven skin from those dry patches, and with just a few weeks of using the product too!

I've also noticed my skin looks a lot brighter and more radiant too.. which I'm sure we all want throughout the summer months, right?! I find it really hard to keep my dry skin looking naturally radiant without any makeup on, but this product has definitely seemed to help me out. So overall I really am a big fan, if you're looking to try a new exfoliator thats gentle on the skin but still makes a big difference, then I definitely recommend giving this product a try. The idea of an exfoliating powder sounded crazy to me at first? But trust me it works!

From most retailers this will cost you £48, however if you purchase it from World Duty free it will cost you £39.95 which I think is a brilliant saving! Even though it is pricey this is going to last me a long time, and could definitely last you a good few months even with everyday use.. so overall, I really do think it's worth the price.

Packaging wise it's definitely nothing special, it's pretty simple and it's probably the only thing that lets the product down. However, considering how good the product is I really don't mind about the packaging at all!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, as you can see I am a big fan and am very excited to keep on using it! So, if you're passing through Duty Free this year before heading on holiday, I definitely recommend having a look at their Dermalogica range as they have some amazing savings at the moment. Let me know if you've tried any products from Dermalogica before, and your thoughts?
