My thoughts on Crown Brush makeup

I've seen the company Crown Brush floating around in the blogosphere and over on youtube for quite a while now so I was very excited to get to try out one of their palettes, some lipsticks and a few of their brushes too! I've been so pleasently surprised by all of the bits I've been trying out, so I'm excited to share my thoughts on them with you in today's post!

Crown Brush have been making makeup brushes for over 35 years, and offer their highest quality brushes to the international beauty and skincare market whilst keeping their prices very reasonable. They have also now expanded into makeup products too, aswell as their brushes, which is very exciting! When you buy from Crown Brushes you are actually buying direct from the factory, so the prouducts will be a fraction of the price you would normally pay for high quality makeup.. which is pretty amazing right?!

First up, is one of their gorgeous eyeshadow palettes, isn't it beautiful?! It has a mix of 35 different shades, and has a range of both warm and cool tones but overall it's definitely a more warm toned palette which is perfect with the summer months almost here. It's pretty hard to fault the shade range in this palette, but if I'm being very picky I wish there were a few more lighter shimmery shades to help brighten up the eyes but apart from that you really do have all the warm tones you'll ever need, which will enable you to create so many different makeup looks!

There's a good mix of both shimmers and mattes, but there's definitely alot more matte shades - which I probably prefer myself anyway! Formula wise, the shimmery shades are impossible to fault, they are packed with pigment and really do blend like a dream. I really like the matte shades too, they are easy to blend even though they are alot less buttery than the shimmery shades. A few of the lighter shades aren't super pigmented at first, but are very easy to build up to a strong colour. The only shade I found quite hard to build up the pigment was the matte black, but 1 out of 35 isn't too bad at all, right?!

The shadows are also very well longwearing too, I often find shimmery shades wear away quite easily on my lids without a primer, so I was very impressed with these, they are definitely reliable shadows meaning you won't have to touch up your makeup throughout the day.. that's in my experience anyway! I can definitely see why their palettes are very hyped about, I mean who doesn't love a huge, amazing quality palette for a super adorable price?

One of the best things about this palette is the price, it costs just £22.99 and for 35 shades, I think that's pretty amazing! The only downside but is also a plus for some is the size, it's so big.. so it's definitely not ideal for on the go or when travelling but for at home this is perfect. I think these would be amazing for makeup artists to use too as there's such a huge range of shades.

Next up are some of their Brushes, I've been trying a few of their eyeshadow brushes out and I can definitely see why they've been voted best makeup brush company! In today's post I'm going to be talking about two of my favourites: their C510 and C511 brushes..

First up is their C510 brush, and I've been using this one too apply any shimmery shades to my lid. I normally find shimmery shades apply best with my fingers.. oops?! The dense flat head of this brush however is perfect for packing on eyeshadow precisely, and I really couldn't recommend this one enough. I've been using this one everyday since it's arrived and it's definitely become a staple in my makeup collection.

This one costs just £5.99, and for the quality I really can't complain about the price at all! For such a soft brush I was so pleasantly surprised to see how much product this can pack on.. I really can't fault the quality of this one at all, so if you're looking for a new eyeshadow brush that will pack on the shimmery shades then I couldn't recommend this one enough!

My second favourite brush is their C511 fluffy brush, which I really like! A few of my blending brushes have become pretty battered at the moment so I was very excited to try this one, and it didn't disappoint! I find the bristles on this brush are so soft and fluffy, which really helps to blend out my eyeshadow easily without too much effort at all! This one actually picks up alot of product too, so it's perfect for packing on lots of colour before blending.

This one is priced at £6.99, which is a little pricier than the first brush but is still reasonable, obviously the price could rack up quite quickly if you were buying multiple brushes but I think good quality brushes are so important, I mean what's the point in spending lots of money on makeup if you're going to use poor quality brushes?

Lastly I have been trying out a few of their pro matte lipsticks, in the shades 'Stripped nude', 'Sex kitten' and 'Girl talk'. I really like how these lipstick feel on the lips formula wise, especially for a matte finish. They all feel super lightweight and comfortable, the only downside is the nude shade does cling to my dry patches a little, but that's nothing a good lip balm or lip primer won't sort out beforehand!

Pigmentation wise the 'Sex kitten' shade is amazing, you really only need one coat with this shade then you are good to go! The other two however look quite sheer on the lips at first and do need building up a little more to reach their full colour. I've found both the pink toned shades are well long lasting, and only need topping up once max throughout the day, which is pretty impressive, right? The nude shade is quite abit less long lasting though, and seems to wear away from the lips very easily, which is a shame as the other two shades are both so well long lasting!

I think my favourite of the three is actually the 'Sex kitten' shade, which is a lovely bold berry like pink colour.. it's definitely going to be the perfect shade with the summer months quickly approaching us and I'm very excited to keep wearing this one. At the moment I normally prefer a creamier or glossy finish to the lips, as I find matte lipsticks normally dry my lips out quite badly but this definitely isn't the case with this formula and I have no complaints about this shade at all!

All three of the lipsticks are priced at £9.99, which sits between both the high end and drugstore prices. I think the two pink toned shades are definitely worth that price, I was so pleasently surprised to see how longwearing they both were and how much I liked the formula of them, but obviously I wasn't so impressed with the 'Stripped nude' shade.. but two out of three isn't too bad, right?

I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on a few products from Crown Brush, I've definitely had lots of fun trying these bits out and I'm very excited to keep using them! Let me know in the comments if you've tried anything from Crown Brush, and your thoughts?

  1. I love all of those lipsticks and the brushes look fantastic! While I think the eyeshadow palette is brilliant value for money, those tones are too warm for me, I tend to go for cooler shades. I've not heard of this brand before, my only association with Crown is for paints, haha, but after looking at these goodies, I'm going to have to check them out. Thank you so much for a great review and gorgeous pictures x

  2. That palette is simply gorgeous! So many beautiful and wearable shades! I love matte lipsticks as well, but I hate it when they dry out my lips. The girl talk shade looks fantastic!

  3. Brilliant post! I worked with these earlier in the year but I'm not surprised to see your post / review was much more detailed and your photos were 10x better than mine haha! But I liked their products too - I got a brush set which I use daily and one of their HUGE eye-shadow palettes (I think mine is a little different from yours?) which I haven't used much of yet, as I'm waiting for my current palette to wear out. They're a fab brand and have a great blogger outreach :)

  4. Oh wow those swatches are absolutely stunning! I have never heard of this brand before but their products sound and look so lovely! I'm not a regular eyeshadow wearer so I tend to just keep my collection tiny, but I still really enjoyed your post!
