Emily Makes Boutique: Snow Pixie candle review

If you follow me over on Instagram you'll know two of my favourite things are Lush and candles, and the idea of having both of these things combined into one is my idea of heaven! I've been testing out the Snow Pixie candle from Emily makes Boutique, which is inspired by my all time favourite lush scent, and I can't wait to share my thoughts on it with you..

Emily makes Boutique is a small hand-made business that's based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The business all begin in July 2016 as just a hobby, but is now an almost full time job - Emily runs her own online shop along side a full time job aswell as providing stock for four shops, so she is definitely the ultimate girl boss!

Emily has a massive range of candles and wax melts available, but the candle and scent I've been trying out is their Snow Pixie scent which is of course inspired by my all time favourite Lush scent: Snow Fairy!

I have been obsessed with the popular lush scent for years, and always make sure to stock up at Christmas time, so its pretty amazing to be able to have that same gorgeous scent in a candle form. Snow Fairy definitely has to be one of the most popular seasonal scents from Lush, and if you haven't tried it for yourself yet then you definitely need too - if you like sweet scents like myself, then you will absolutely love it!

Scent wise, compared to the Lush snow fairy scent - I honestly can't notice a difference, the scent is honestly spot on with the gorgeous fresh bubble gum like scent. The scent is a mix of pear, cotton candy, vanilla and a hint of cherry, which all blends beautifully into the strong bubble gum and candy like scent and I mean strong, it's definitely not a weak scent at all!

If you've tried Lush's snow fairy scent for yourself then I bet you can imagine just how good this candle smells, it replicates that super sweet scent perfectly, I've tried quite a lot of lush dupes myself in the past and this one definitely has to be one of the best I've tried!

Even without being lit, the candle scent comes across so strong! So, I was very excited to see how the scent throw would come across when lit, and it definitely didn't disappoint. After about 5-10 minutes of being lit, the scent starts to fill a room which I think is really fast for a candle. The scent throw comes across so well, and easily fills a room with the gorgeous bubble gum like scent - even in larger rooms too which I was really surprised about.

If you dislike sweet scents then you might find this a little overpowering, but for a sweet lover like me it's perfect - and I'm sure any lush fans who love the famous scent would love it just as much as myself too! It's also one of those scents that you can still smell quite well the morning after burning, which is definitely harder to find these days in a candle.

All of Emily's jam jar style candles contain at least 225g of wax, meaning they have a burn time of around 50 - 60 hours - which I think is pretty good for the price, as a lot of candles with burn times like this from bigger brands would cost you a lot more! Another thing I really like is that it burns so evenly, meaning none of the wax is wasted at all which I find some of even the bigger branded candles struggle to do these days!

This particular candle retails for £12.50, which considering the scent throw and 60 hour burn time is not bad at all. Obviously, you can get cheaper candles elsewhere from places like Primark but it would be very hard to find one with a scent throw as strong and as complex as this one.

I definitely wouldn't mind paying £12.50 myself for the candle, I also think they would make great gifts for fellow candle lovers too as the packaging is lovely. I really do love the look of their jam jar style candles, they look very nice out on display too, which I think is actually becoming quite important to buyers these days - as candles are definitely something people like to have out on display, including myself!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Overall and as you can probably tell already, I absolutely love the candle - as a huge snow fairy fan I am so happy to be able to have the scent in a candle form! If you are a candle lover like myself then I definitely recommend taking a look at Emily's website, she has a massive range of candles available, aswell as wax melts too and even candle accessories! Let me know what your favourite kind of candle scents are in the comments?

* The candle was very kindly sent complimentary to test out, however as always all opinions are my own! *
