Wax Box Review

We all know by now that I love trying out new wax melts and candles, so I was very excited to receive a box full to try from the company Wax Box. They actually offer a monthly subscription service too, as well as individual wax melts through their website. I am absolutely wax melt obsessed at the moment so I was so excited to try out a box of new exciting scents from a brand I hadn't tried before..

The first scent I tried out was their 'Love' scent which is a blend of peach, cherry blossom and white Jasmine which creates such a beautiful fruity floral scent! As soon as I received this one I knew I recognised the scent from somewhere and it was bugging me for weeks as I couldn't remember, then it finally clicked and I realised it smells so similar to the Victoria secret 'Love spell' scent - which is a fragrance I used to be obsessed with, so its amazing to be able to have it in wax form too!

Scent throw wise it fills a room really nicely, not as strong as some of the other scents I've tried from the company but still strong enough to fill a room well. If you like a mix of fruity and floral scents then you will love this one as it's the perfect combination of both, and is perfect with spring approaching!

The next scent I tried was their 'Pink elephant' scent - and its such a gorgeous scent with so many different layers! It has top and middle notes of honeydew, watermelon, kiwi, mandarin and cherry with a small hint of cassis which bring out the sugared musk and tart apricot bottom notes. The blend together is honestly gorgeous - it's a fresh fruity scent with a very slight muskiness to it too, the strongest scents for me seem to be the watermelon and the tart apricot, so if you love watermelon scents then you are bound to love this one!

This one actually reminds me of the American watermelon jolly rancher sweets, it's definitely a scent that smells good enough to eat! The scent throw of this one comes across really well too, that sweet watermelon concoction will fill a room in no time - its definitely one of the stronger scents out of the ones I've been trying. I think this would be amazing to burn throughout the summer months as it's such a refreshing sweet scent!

Next up is a 'Caramel macchiato' melt, and I actually really dislike coffee in any form.. to drink, in a cake and especially in candle form but this smells so good - and I was actually shocked at how much I actually liked the scent. The scent is described on the website as a rich vanilla and steamed milk intense espresso scent topped with a rich buttery caramel toffee layer - and the description is spot on, for me the toffee and vanilla scents stand out the most with a light undertone of coffee scents.

This scent actually reminds me of my favourite place, Walt Disney world - their super rich buttery toffee popcorn smells exactly like this melt to me, obviously with the extra hints of coffee. So, you definitely don't need to be a coffee lover to like this scent as I'm definitely not a coffee fan but absolutely love this scent. Scent throw wise, I can't fault this one - a few minutes into burning the gorgeous rich aroma fills the air, I think this scent would be perfect for burning in the kitchen!

'Black forest fruits' is the next scent I tried which is definitely the strongest scent of the mix I've been trying. It's a gorgeous berry scent and to me it smells exactly like Ribena - which definitely takes me back to my childhood, I haven't had Ribena myself in such a long time and even so I can recognise the scent instantly, it also reminds me of the Vimto drink too but without the extra fizziness. This would definitely be ideal for burning throughout the summer months, as I think fruity scents are definitely made for that time of year!

It's such a deep fruity scent, you honestly need the tiniest amount of this in your burner as it has such a strong scent throw. I actually put half a tart in my burner myself, and it was so strong - maybe even a little too overpowering for my liking - so I will definitely just be using the smallest amount next time. It's one of those scents that you can still smell really well the morning after, which is definitely harder to find these days in wax melts!

The next scent I tried was 'Clementine and prosecco' which is a gorgeous blend of scents of Clementine and fizzy prosecco. For me the Clementine comes across as the strongest scent in this, with the prosecco in the background as a lighter fizzy scent. This one comes across as quite a festive scent to me, and I think this would be perfect to burn during the build up to Christmas and in the winter months! Citrus scents are some of my favourite, and this one doesn't disappoint.. the combination of the bubbly prosecco adds perfectly to the scent too making it such a refreshing one, it's definitely one of the best citrus scents I've tried in a long time!

This has probably one of the lightest scent throws compared to the other scents, it's definitely not weak but it doesn't seem to fill a room as well as the others do. So if you prefer a lighter scent then I definitely recommend trying this one and I think it would be perfect in any room of the house too, as it's such a light fresh scent!

'Almond macaroon' is another scent I've been trying out and this is my definite favourite out of the nine I've been trying.. it's absolutely Gorgeous! The scent has rich buttery notes with scents of crushed almond, and a hint of spice which blends into a sweet vanilla base. It smells just like a Bakewell tarte but in a light and delicate wax melt form, minus the cherry! Bakewell tartes are one of my favourite treats, and this is the perfect dupe of that scent.. but warning it will make you very hungry!

Scent throw wise I again can't fault this one, the scent easily fills a room and more with that sweet soft almond scent. I think this scent would be perfect for burning in any room in the house but I think this definitely belongs in the kitchen.. who doesn't want their kitchen smelling of freshly baked almond macaroons? It's also a scent perfect for burning at any time of year too, and it's sure to have your rooms smelling like a delicious French patisserie - this one definitely gets a big thumbs up from me!

The next scent I tried was their 'Laundry' scent - which smells exactly as you would imagine.. it has a clean soapy scent just like fabric softener but without being chemically at all, it's definitely the perfect scent to get your house smelling fresh and clean without it being too overwhelming. I think this one would be perfect for burning in a living room or even a bathroom!

The scent throw of this one is again fantastic, and easily fills a room and more with the lovely clean aroma. I've tried quite a few scents similar to this from big brands and I've found them to be disappointing scent throw wise and too light, where as this comes across so well and strong - and just like the almond macaroon scent it's one of those scents that you can still smell really well the morning after burning , so you definitely get your money's worth with this one too.

'English pear and vanilla' was the next scent I've been testing. I absolutely love pear scents, so I was bound to fall in love with this one.. which I definitely did! It's a really simple blend of sweet English pear paired with creamy vanilla, sometimes the simple scents are some of the best and I just adore this creamy fruity scent!

For such a light scent the scent throw of this one comes across really nicely, and fills a room with the gorgeous sweet aroma after a good few minutes. I think this one would be perfect in any room in the house, I also think this one would be perfect if you're looking to gift a scent to someone as I can't imagine anyone disliking this one as it's such a classic simple scent. This is definitely one of my favourites out of the bunch I've been trying, and if you're thinking of picking one up for yourself then I definitely recommend trying this one!

The last scent I've been trying is 'Ginger lime' which is another simple fragrance but lovely one! I adore fruity citrus scents, and I think the addition of ginger surprisingly adds pretty well to it - and brings an exciting spicy touch to the scent. I find this to be a zesty yet calming kind of fragrance, it's very spa like!

It's quite a subtle scent when burned which makes it the perfect relaxing scent, this would definitely be the ideal melt to burn during a pamper night whilst having a nice hot bubble bath! I don't normally like ginger scents myself and was worried I wouldn't like this one when I saw the name, but I think this combination works so well together- it's definitely a scent like nothing I've tried myself before and I can't wait to keep using this one.

Most of the scents seemed to burn for around 5/6 hours before I noticed them starting to become slightly weaker, some for longer like 'Black forests fruits' and 'Laundry'. I was really impressed with the burn time for the price, and also considering I was using just half the pot too, you could definitely get away with using even less than that for some of the scents too.

Their single wax pots are just £1.50 which I think is a really affordable price for wax melts these days, especially considering these can be split in half or even quarters too. They also offer a wax melt subscription box which includes 9 melt pots for just £10, which works out even better value for money! Design wise, they are pretty plain and just tend to be one colour, sometimes two - but I do really like how clear and colourful the designs are on the tubs!

Overall, I am really impressed with the company and the melts I tried - I love the idea of their subscription service, it's definitely a great way of trying lots of scents in one go for an affordable price! Another thing I love about the website and wax boxes is that there's definitely something for everyone's taste, whether that's fruity, floral or sweet you will definitely find something to suit your taste!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what your favourite type of scents are in the comments?
