Natural world: Chia seed oil haircare range review

Natural World are a Soho London based haircare brand who pride themselves on the use of organic products and I'm excited to share my thoughts on a few of them that I've been testing out over the past month or so with you! They have a couple of different ranges available, and I've been trying out their Chia seed oil range..

Firstly, I actually was shocked to see just how big the shampoo and conditioner bottles are in person, so you definitely get your money's worth from that perspective, as they are honestly huge! The hair oil is obviously a lot smaller, but understandably for an oil based product. Packaging wise it's not the most flattering colour wise, but I really do like how easy and clear to read all the instructions and ingredients are - it's definitely a brand for for all generations which I like!

"This exquisitely creamy, volume boosting shampoo is infused with certified Chia Seed Oil, to remove dirt & impurities that weigh the hair down, while helping strengthen for beautifully bouncy, fuller hair. Volume & silky shine for fine hair"

The conditioner also claims to do the same, as well as detangling and and strengthening the hair.

The main ingredient in all the products is Chia seed oil, which is the ingredient which claims to help to boost volume and strengthen the hair. Other ingredients include Lemongrass, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood and rosemary which aim to help with hair growth by boosting circulation in the roots - which I'm sure is something we all long for in a hair product right? So I was very excited to put them to the test and see whether they lived up to their claims!

On first use of the shampoo I was actually quite shocked to see just how creamy it feels when applied to the hair - they were definitely 100% right on that aspect. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to foam up like a normal shampoo which makes it difficult to see whether I had applied it to all areas, but I definitely got used to that after a few uses.

My first impressions on the conditioner were really good too, once it was rinsed out I could actually see a difference in how less tangled my hair felt already! After towel drying my hair a little I've been adding in just a small amount of the Chia seed oil, mainly to the ends of my hair. I normally find my hair is a nightmare to brush through after washing as it's so long but my tangle teezer seemed to glide through my hair so much easier after doing all three of these steps, which I was definitely impressed with!

Another thing to mention is the scent leaves your hair smelling amazing too, it's a subtle scent that's not too overpowering and it gives such a lovely fresh herbal scent to the hair which is definitely a great little bonus.

After a month of using all three of the products, the main thing I've noticed is how much it's seemed to have helped with the condition of the fine ends of my hair - I've definitely noticed a difference there, so they are definitely right to stand by their claims that the range helps to strengthen hair! Another thing I loved about the products was how soft and shiny they made my hair look and feel, It definitely does give the hair more volume too but a soft and shiny finish are something I always look for in a hair product, and these products helped to do just exactly that - I definitely think this range is perfect for my hair type, and if you have fine long hair then I'm sure you would love it too!

My favourite of the three products definitely has to be the hair oil.. it honestly leaves my hair feeling so smooth without it feeling at all greasy, and it's definitely helped to make the ends of my hair look and feel a lot stronger! It's been one of my favourite hair oils I've tried to date, and I can't wait to keep on using it.

The first photo below was taken at the beginning of the year and I am so pleased that you can clearly see that my hair looks in better condition, especially the ends. The ends of my hair looked pretty awful on the first picture, and I think they look so much healthier now thankfully and I can't wait to see how it looks in another months time!

Prices vary but range between £3 to £4 each at Tesco, which I think is a great bargain considering the quality and the size, especially with shampoo and conditioner being so big. I am really impressed with the brand as a whole and I will definitely be considering swapping to this shampoo and conditioner after seeing the results!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I am definitely pleasantly surprised with the range and would definitely recommend it if you have fine hair like myself. As well as the Chia seed range they also have argan oil, coconut water, brazilian keratin, and macadamia oil ranges plus more. They actually have a quiz on their website, which helps to determine which range would be best for you. Let me know if you've tried any of the ranges yet, and your thoughts?

  1. Ooh such a lovely haircare post! I'm actually obsessed with your blog photography style right now, would you ever consider doing a post on the lighting and props you use and how you edit them?

I'm trying to expand my haircare routine as I've always kept it fairly simple. Actually I'm in the process of writing a blog post about a few hair products I've tried so I'm making some progress hahah. Haven't tried this brand before, it sounds quite nice though! And I totally agree with you, anything that leaves your hair soft, shiny and smelling nice is always lovely.
