Tarte sale haul and first impressions

I did so well in resisting lots of the sales at the end of 2017, but when I saw the bargains included in the Tarte sale, and the fact they were offering free shipping to the UK I just couldn't resist and caved in! All of the duties and taxes are included in the price now with Tarte, which means you won't face the dreaded customs fee anymore, yay! They had so many amazing offers in the sale this time, so I can't wait to show you what I picked up!

The first thing I ordered was the 'No-makeup magic' beauty essentials set which includes a buff rainforest of the sea lip quench and also a 'Brighter Day's' moisturizing highlighter. These are two products I've wanted to try out from Tarte for a while, and to get them both for just £8 was amazing, Tarte definitely know how to do sales the right way!

I'm a massive fan of Tartes rainforest of the sea collection, and the lip quench doesn't disappoint either - it feels like a lip balm consisensy on the lips but adds such a pretty pop of colour to them. This is perfect for those no makeup days when you want to add a little bit of colour to your lips. It also feels super hydrating on the lips too, perfect for when your lips need some TLC as it's packed with antioxidants and vitamins - it also contains coconut oil too, which we all know has so many good benefits for the skin!

Alone these retail for £17, so it was such a bargain to get both products for only £8. As much as I love the product, I definitely wouldnt pay £17 myself for a tinted balm, but fingers crossed it will be making another appearence in their next sale. As well as the formula, I think the packaging is beautiful - I absolutely love the pastel colours with the gold, it's definitely my kind of aesthetic!

The brighter days moisturising highlighter is actually one if my favourite items in this haul, it's really similar to the MAC strobe cream but feels super hydrating on the skin too. I've been wearing this as a daily moisturiser under my makeup, as recommended on the website and it adds a really pretty sheer glow to the skin without being shimmery and glittery like most highlighters.

I also really like wearing the product alone, it's perfect for those no makeup days when you aren't feeling like wearing a full face of foundation, I think this would be perfect to wear abroad too! It really does add such a healthy glow to the skin, which I definitely needed after the horrible winter weather we've been having lately!

The next thing I picked up was another highlighter, but in powder form and it's the most beautiful light champagne gold shade called 'Goddess glow'. I was worried this would be a little dark as I am SO pale but it's perfect! I bought this for £14 reduced from £29, which I was so happy about. I was eyeing up this limited edition collection beforehand but I could never justify £29 for a highlighter, no matter how pretty!

I think everything about this highlighter has been done so well from the packaging to the formula, I love the design on the palette too - Tarte definitely nail their packaging so right every time! You also get a huge amount of product too, so I definitely won't be running out of this one anytime soon. It's the total opposite of the moisturizing highlighter as it has more of an intense shimmery finish which looks stunning on the brow and cheek bones, the formula is so easy to build up too but it can definitely give you more of a natural glow if you hold back on the product.

The next thing I picked up was the abstract eye and cheek palette, now I may have been drawn to this purely because of the pretty packaging.. oops! I've never seen packaging like this before, I think it's so unique looking! The product quality itself is amazing though, I love a natural makeup look and this set is perfect for creating that. I always find Tarte eyeshadows are so easy to blend, and the two in this palette are exactly the same, they are pretty pigmented too so you don't need to pack on a lot of product onto your brush at all!

I especially love the 'Abstract' blush shade in the palette, which is a very pretty rosy pink colour - I've definitely be reaching for this one a lot since it's arrived! This palette was on sale for £13, which is actually quite expensive for just three shades but I am a sucker for pretty packaging and just couldn't resist!

The last thing I picked up was another set, called the 'High performance naturals' which includes a highlight and contour palette, a mini liquid lipstick and a mascara! This set was reduced to £13 from £21, which at that price I definitely couldn't resist! I think their holiday sets are perfect for trying lots of smaller products in one go before buying them in full size.

I love that the set included a Tarteist mascara, because you can never have too many right? I really do like this mascara! It's definitely a volumising one, and if you're looking for a mascara which gives a false lash effect then this is definitely worth trying out. I've heard so many good reviews about this mascara, and I'm so glad it lived up to the hype. My only complaint is that I did find it to be a tiny bit clumpy, but apart from that I have no complaints at all. It's definitely one of the most volumising mascaras I've tried yet and I can't wait to keep wearing it.

The set also included a lip paint in the shade 'exposed' which is a very pretty rosy nude colour, the perfect everyday shade! I have a few of their mini lip paints already and I really like the formula, they are a little drying on the lips but once it's on it doesn't budge at all - which is amazing and perfect if you have a long day ahead of you! It's obviously a tiny size, but that makes it perfect for popping in your handbag for on the go! I just wish it was a little bigger, as the colour is gorgeous, I definitely think they should do these in much bigger sizes!

My favourite part of the set though has to be to contour and highlight palette, I've been using this on a daily basis and I love it - I've mainly been using the 'burst' and 'chisel' shades, they compliment each other so well! The 'Burst' highlighter shade is definitely up there with my favourite highlighters I've tried so far and it's perfect for us pale skin girls too! It gives the most gorgeous champagne glow to the skin, I would definitely buy this again in full size when I run out! Both of the highlight shades are actually quite similar looking, but I think the 'gleam' shade is a little more pink toned!

It's definitely become one of my go to contour sets at the moment, I love how the shades are not too overpowering but are still buildable if you want a more intense look! It's also the most perfect travel size too, it's not bulky at all - as it's all so compact! I really cant fault this one at all, if you're looking at buying a new contour kit then I definitely recommend trying this one!

That's is for this Tarte haul, I hope you enjoyed seeing which bits I picked up in their sale. I still can't believe how well reduced their sale items were, I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the next one! Let me know if you took advantage of the Tarte sale?
