My thoughts on Glo & Ray Makeup

I absolutely love trying out new makeup brands that I've yet to try before, so I was very excited to be able to try out some makeup bits from the company 'Glo & Ray'. They are a UK based brand, and they are actually still fairly new to the industry - even so there products seem to be doing very well and I've heard great reviews from fellow bloggers too, so I'm excited to share with you my own thoughts and opinions on the brand - I've been trying the products out for a good few weeks now so I thought this would be the perfect time to write up this post!

“Glo & Ray is a British company which draws inspiration from the natural wonder of light. The name Glo & Ray is derived from ‘Glo’, a gentle luminance; and ‘Ray’, a vibrant beam of light. We look to harness each woman’s natural radiance to deliver a stunning collection designed to illuminate individual beauty”

First up I got to try out two of their lipsticks, which firstly I have to say I really do like the packaging of these and I love that the brand name is engraved onto the actual lipstick. The first one I tried out is called 'Gold Fever' and my first reaction was that I'll never be able to work with a gold lipstick especially with my pale skin, but thankfully it's actually a red lipstick in disguise! Which I have never seen anything similar too before, and definitely blew my mind a little, I think it's such a cool concept though! The actual colour is a creamy red shade, which is very fitting for this time of year.

The only complaint I have is that it does need topping up after about 3/4 hours as it is so creamy, and if you're eating the product does slide of quite easily. I do find this happens with most of my cream finish lipsticks also though!

The next lipstick I tried was in the shade 'Honey' which is a super creamy pinky nude shade, again it does glide of quite easily like the first lipstick after a few hours but apart from that I love it. The colour is right up my street and perfect for an everyday makeup look.

They also both feel very hydrating on the lips, and don't leave your lips feeling dry like alot of my others do - so, for £12 they do get a big thumbs up from me and I'm sure I'll be getting alot of use out of both of the shades, especially the red during this festive season!

I then got to try a lip liner in the shade 'Rosy Cedar' this is such a lovely nude pink which goes perfectly together with the 'Honey' lipstick. I found the lipliner a little less creamy and had much more of a matte finish than the lipsticks, which I actually prefer as it does keep the product on for alot longer - this one lasts really well! It's also not too drying for a matte product either, which is a big bonus! This one is sold for £9.90, which is a decent price but I do find creamy lipliners tend to run out a lot quicker than the pencils, but you do get a good amount of product which is great!

I was very excited to try out their mascara, as I am always on the hunt for a new one. This one is called their infinite lash definition mascara. When I first opened this one I was a little shocked at just how tiny the wand was compared to the others I've tried. However, I was definitely pleasently surprised about this one, it works wonders for your lashes - the wand works so well to add a good length to them and some volume. Its perfect for the lower lashes especially, which i find so hard to do normally with a thicker wand.

It's not the most volumnising mascara I've tried, but it sure does make your lashes look gorgeous! Its priced at £10.50 so not the cheapest, but definitely cheaper than the high end prices which I'm glad! This product has a hard setting polymer formula to separate the lashes, which I think works so well - I absolutely hate clumpy looking lashes as I'm sure you do too!

For my brows I never stray away from the ABH dip brow however again I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It has two ends, a handy spoolie and the pencil side, which is much more creamy than most brow pencils I've tried. I would say my hair is dark blonde to brown and this shade matches it so well (warm brown).

I like my brows pretty natural and this helps to define them really well, but it's also easy to build the intensity too if you like them fuller but I myself prefer it too look a little more on the natural side, which the spoolie helps with too! The formula is super creamy which helps the product to glide on easily, I much prefer this to the pencil style brow products as it's so easy to work with. This one costs £6.90, which is a very decent price - I find pencils that are this creamy tend to run out alot quicker but for this price I definitely can't complain as I normally pay double!

Lastly is my favourite product of the selection that I was lucky enough to try and it's their longwear precision eyeliner, and this stuff is honestly AMAZING. One of my favourite liners is the Kat Von D tattoo liner but it's so expensive to keep buying, however this one is the perfect dupe but so much better priced. The tips look almost identical in comparison to eachother, and it really does make eyeliner such an easy task and gives such good precision.

Another good thing about this product is that once its on, it stays put all day so theres no need to worry about streaky smudged eyeliner, which nobody definitely wants! I have nothing bad too say about this product, it gives of such an intense black colour whilst remaining smudge free all day. What makes it even better is that it only costs £6.90 which I am more than happy to pay, I'm so glad this brand are keeping their prices reasonable unlike some at the moment!

The products to me feel good enough to almost be a high end brand especially the eyeliner and brow pencil but price wise they sit between both drugstore and high-end, which is amazing as you're getting such high quality products for a reasonable price. So I would definitely say the products are worth the price, and the prices definitely won't break the bank either - I love that the brand still remains to keep the prices down, which does show they do care about their costumers, which will definitely draw me back to them. The packaging also feels very sleek and weighty, which I'm really impressed with for the price too!

I hope you enjoyed this review, overall I am pleasantly surprised with the brand and do recommend trying their products if they sound like they interest you! My favourite product has to be the eyeliner, I have definitely found a new favourite and I really recommend trying it if you're looking to try out a new one. Let me know if you've tried the brand yet? I would love to hear your thoughts and product recommendations!

*These products were kindly sent to review, however, as always all opinions are my own. *
