New Rimmel lasting finish concealer and foundation

Recently I was very kindly sent the Rimmel VoxBox from influenster which included their new lasting finish 25 hour breathable foundation and concealer and some other beauty bits. Rimmel is a brand that I have always loved and bought from, and I've actually tried quite a few of their foundations already so I was very excited to give these two new products a go!

The first product I tried out was their new lasting finish 25 hour breathable foundation in the shade 10 light porcelain. I thought this looked too pinky toned in the bottle at first, but when on the face it's a perfect shade for us pale skin girls and boys! For me personally I really can't fault the foundation I would say it's a medium coverage but it's definitely buildable.

I love the applicator, which is something ive never seen in a foundation before - but its great to evenly apply the foundation to the skin before blending with a brush or sponge, it also means you don't have to get your hands messy like some foundations. I find it so easy to work with, it blends out so nicely and gives my skin such a lovely finish.

One of the things I love about this foundation is that's it's so light weight, which is something I love in a makeup product, I hate anything that sits heavy on the face. It really does feel like your not wearing any product at all! Then most importantly of all, I was so impressed with how long wearing it is, it really doesn't budge!

It's definitely one of the most long-lasting foundations I've tried in a long time. I was actually really surprised at how long it lasted for such a lightweight foundation, although I can’t say how well it would work on those with oily skin, but it definitely lasts so well with my dry skin. I have really dry skin myself, and normally find after removing foundation it feels even worse, but luckily with this one It hasn't seemed to dry my skin out more at all - which is a huge bonus for me. This retails at £8.99 which I would be more than happy paying for the quality you get in the product!

I then got to try out their new matching concealer in the shade 001 light ivory. I have really mixed opinions on this concealer it works great in some aspects, then in other ways not so good for me. As someone with pale skin I always struggle to find a concealer light enough, and as you can see from the photos this one is perfect! I'd say this is a lighter coverage that the foundation, and again it feels super light weight on the skin.

I have never actually tried a concealer from Rimmel before but I've found it doesn't sink in to my fine lines under my eyes like alot of concealers I've tried have, so that's a massive bonus for me. My only complaint is that my under eyes are very dark so I just wish it had that little extra bit of coverage as it really doesn't cover them up as much as I would like, but apart from that I have no complaints at all.

I also really like the new unique applicator too, It's perfect for blending out the concealer after applying the product, compared too using a huge beauty blender! The concealer retails for £6.49, which is not the cheapest for a drugstore concealer. However, the concealer is great for concealing pores and blemishes, so if you suffer from them I would really recommend it for that purpose.

If you have dark under eyes like myself however and you are looking for a concealer to hide them then I would say it's probably not the best for you - I don't dislike the concealer, but it's definitely not the best I've tried either, and I wouldn't jump at buying another.

I also received some other bits including one of their moisture renew lipsticks in the shade 'Vintage pink', which is such a pretty shade, I've had so many compliments wearing this one. It's such a perfect everyday nude pink shade, I've been wearing this alot lately and will definitely be buying another when this one runs out.

The formula is so creamy and long wearing, and it doesn't dry my lips out at all, my lips usually get dry very quick but this has been a life saver. It also contains vitamins A, C, and E to help care for the lips, Which is definitely a great extra bonus. This one retails for £6.49 Which is really good considering I prefer the finish of this over most of my high end lipsticks, I'm already thinking about ordering a back up!

The last product I received was the Kate Moss sculpting palette in the shade 002 coral glow. The palette consists of a combo of three powder shades – a highlighter, shading powder and a blush. The shades are so easy to work with and blend really well! I can't believe I haven't discovered this before, I've been reaching for this so much lately. This would make a brilliant travel sized face palette, with three gorgeous shades all in one place.

The blushes I tend to reach for all seem to be peach and coral toned, so this palette is perfect for me on a daily basis. The only thing to mention is the highlighter is definitely a lighter and softer shade compared to some out their, which works well with my pale skin - but I think this would be harder to work with if you have a deeper skin tone or if your someone who prefers a really intense highlight. Also for £6.99 it's a bargain, and saves you money not buying all the shades individually.

Overall, I am really impressed with Rimmels new collection, apart from my mixed views on the concealer. I am a huge fan of the foundation, and it's something I can see myself definitely rebuying! Let me know if you have tried anything from the collection, and what are your thoughts?

*The products in this post were kindly sent to review from influenster, however, as always all opinions are my own.*

  12. I definitely would like to try the foundation as I also like lightweight face products. I have tried the sculpting palette and unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I did try to like it but it didn't show up on me at all. Glad it worked for you though!!
