Gookie Dough's edible gourmet cookie dough

I am cookie dough obsessed, cookie dough icecream, cookie dough freakshakes, you name it and I'll have tried and loved it. So, I was super excited to try out some of Gookie Dough's gourmet edible cookie dough. Unlike regular cookie dough, this one is made without eggs meaning it's safe to consume containing no raw ingredients so you can eat it straight from the tub, yay!

The business is owned by Anja & Olly, a couple of cookie dough fanatics from Nottingham who have created a product born from an obsession of Willy Wonka and childhood memories of baking. The dough comes in four different flavours at the moment: gooey chocolate chip, triple chocolate fudge, funfetti cake batter and red velvet, which all sounded incredible to me, so you can imagine how excited I was to try them out! I think they are such a fun treat to have delivered, my whole family enjoyed them as much as I did too. We had a massive taste test of all the flavours on the day they arrived, and they approve just as much as i do!

This flavour has a vanilla cookie dough base swirled with dark chocolate chip chunks, and they really have nailed their recipe for this one - the cookie dough really does taste perfect, it's so gooey and delicious! This is their only vegan flavour at the moment, which is great that they've been able to create a vegan friendly option too, as I know so many people are making the change to become vegan.

I also love that they've used dark chocolate too, it tastes so good together with the mix and works surprisingly well compared to the milk chocolate chips I normally have in my cookies. I don't know how they have both come up with these incredible recipes, but I am very happy they have!!

This flavour has a vanilla cake batter dough base with white chocolate chunks and rainbow sugar crystals, How heavenly does that sound right? This one takes inspiration from the ultimate American childhood birthday cake flavour, which they have nailed perfectly.

It reminds me so much of the cake pops I have tried whilst away in America this year, which brings back some of the best memories. Birthday cake is a flavour the Americans go absolutely crazy for they seem to have it everywhere in so many different forms, icecream, milkshakes and even chewing gum. I love that they have added that famous flavour to one of their recipes, as it works so well in cookie dough form! This one is so sweet and gooey, it's just perfect!

This is my personal favourite flavour of the four, I am red velvet obsessed so this one was perfect for me, red velvet is my absolute favourite flavour cake - so I was so excited to see they had made it into a cookie dough. Its very sweet but oh does it taste good, I could probably live of this stuff for the rest of my life if it was acceptable!

The red velvet flavour has a red cocoa cookie dough base swirled with white chocolate vanilla fudge frosting, the combination tastes just perfect to together. I had to control myself, as I could have easily worked my way through the whole tub in one go, oops! If you are on a diet I dont recommend this one, as you wont be able to stop yourself!

This flavour is honestly a chocolate lovers dream, aka me, haha! The triple chocolate fudge flavour has a dark cocoa cookie dough base with milk chocolate fudge and white chocolate chunks, basically any chocolate addicts idea of absolute heaven. It really is such a yummy flavour, and it's surprisingly not as sickly as it looks either - it's very moreish! This one basically tastes like triple chocolate fudge cake in dough form, which works so well! This one is again so gooey and delicious, and the chocolate fudge chunks are so yummy.

You can really tell they've thought so hard and worked for a long time on their flavours and recipes to get them so right!

My favourite way to eat the cookie dough is straight out of the jar, because it's honestly that good that you don't need anything with it at all. I had so many fun ideas to use it with, but after trying it alone I dont think it could get any better! We did try them on digestive biscuits which was such a good combo! I've also heard people add this to icecream which I bet tastes amazing! Who needs Ben and Jerry' s when you can make your own cookie dough icecream? If you take a look on their Instagram feed they show you so many different things you can use it for!

Yes!! You can get a variety box with all four flavours for £14.95 which in my opinion is a really good price for what you are getting. I think these would make such good gifts for someone's birthday or as a Christmas present, as they are so unique and nothing like anything I've seen before elsewhere so far! They also last for a good amount of time too, Gookie Dough will last up to 4 weeks in the fridge or 12 months in the freezer, which is such a good amount of time. There's no way I could keep mine in the freezer for a whole twelve months without eating it though!

Overall, and as you can probably already tell I am obsessed with the products! I think these would make the perfect Christmas gift for a cookie dough lover, aren't we all one? They really are the perfect pick me up snack whenever you fancy a treat. I am very excited to see what other flavours they are going to bring out in the future, and I bet they're working on some new ones already. I think a peanut butter cookie dough would be amazing! I will definitely be buying some in the future, and what makes it even more special is you are supporting a small business at the same time, which is something I think we should all do more often!

  3. These all sound SO incredible!! The bday cake and red velvet ones are calling out to me in particular! I always love the idea of eating cake batter but the raw eggs always dissuaded me. These sound like the perfect alternative! I need to see if we have anything in the US like this!

  12. These would've been so great to have at home a few years back but I've since stopped consuming refined sugar and dairy! It's all because of my skin, but if I see these I think I've have a little sneaky taste anyway. I'm like you though, anything cookie dough is my favourite!
